A Ukrainian drone attack on Monday killed three people in a town in Russia’s Moscow Oblast, the region surrounding the Russian capital city of Moscow, as Ukraine continues launching massive drone barrages with the support of the US and NATO.
Moscow Oblast Governor Andrey Vorobyov said the Ukrainian drone attack hit the village of Pionersky, about 25 miles west of Moscow, killing three people and injuring three others. Two others were injured by a drone attack that hit an apartment building in Solnechnogorsk, another town in the Moscow Oblast.

Vorobyov said that 81 Ukrainian drones were shot down over the Moscow region during the attack. The Russian Defense Ministry reported that its air defense forces intercepted 342 drones over 15 separate Russian regions.
According to The Moscow Times, a woman was also killed by a Ukrainian drone attack in Russia’s Belgorod region, which borders Ukraine, bringing Monday’s death toll in Russia to at least four.
Ukraine has been launching daily drone swarms into Russia since the NATO summit in Ankara last week, where President Trump said that he supported the long-range operations deep inside Russia, which always risk an escalation between Moscow and NATO.
The drone attacks are known to be supported by US intelligence, which was reaffirmed by a recent Financial Times report that cited Ukrainian officials who said that the Ukrainian military was able to strike multiple Russian oil refineries recently because US intelligence has allowed it to find the optimal flight path for its drones to get through Russia’s air defenses.
