Ukrainian Drone Attack Kills Six-Month-Old Baby in Moscow Region

Ukraine launched a major drone swarm into Russia on Tuesday, the day after a Russian bombardment killed 12 Ukrainian civilians

A massive Ukrainian drone attack on Russia on Tuesday killed at least two Russian civilians, including a six-month-old baby, according to local officials, as civilian casualties continue to rise on both sides of the war.

According to Moscow Governor Andrey Vorobyov, a drone crash caused a house fire in Yegoryevsk, a town in the Moscow Oblast, which surrounds the Russian capital city of Moscow.

“People were trapped under the rubble. Rescuers quickly pulled out two adults and two children. Unfortunately, a six-month-old baby died on the way to the hospital,” Vorobyov said.

The other civilian, a 61-year-old woman, was killed by a drone attack in Russia’s Tver region, according to that region’s acting governor.

The Russian Defense Ministry said that its forces downed a total of 419 Ukrainian drones over at least 18 Russian regions overnight. The massive Ukrainian drone swarm came a day after Russian missiles and drones pounded Ukrainian cities, killing 12 civilians, according to Ukrainian officials.

Russia has been ramping up its bombardments of Ukraine in response to the increase in Ukrainian drone attacks and civilian casualties in Russian regions, resulting in more civilian casualties in Ukraine.

A Russian Foreign Ministry official said on Tuesday that Ukrainian drone attacks over the past week have killed 42 Russian civilians, including two children. The Kremlin called for the “international community” to take notice of the civilian casualties in Russia.

Ukraine’s drone attacks always risk an escalation between Russia and NATO since they are known to be supported by US and NATO intelligence.
