The Israeli military launched heavy attacks across Gaza on Sunday, killing at least six Palestinians, as it continues its constant violations of the US-backed ceasefire deal.
Medics told Reuters that at least four people were killed and several others were wounded by an Israeli airstrike near a hospital in northern Gaza’s Jabalia refugee camp. Israeli fire also killed a Palestinian near the southern city of Khan Younis and in Gaza City.
Gaza’s Health Ministry said in its daily update, which it releases about midday Gaza time, that IDF attacks killed at least three Palestinians and wounded 16 over the previous 24-hour period.

The ministry said that since the so-called ceasefire deal was signed in October 2025, the Israeli military has killed at least 986 Palestinians and wounded 3,138. “A number of victims are still under the rubble and in the streets, as ambulance and civil defense crews have been unable to reach them so far,” the ministry wrote on Telegram.
The latest violence in Gaza comes after Hamas officials held talks in Cairo with mediators from Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey on implementing the second phase of the ceasefire deal. Hamas’s position is that, to move forward, Israel must implement the first phase of the agreement, which calls for a halt to all military operations and attacks.
Israel has also violated the ceasefire deal by expanding its control of Gaza from 53% of the territory to 60% as it has moved the “yellow line” further west. US and Israeli officials have accused Hamas of violating the ceasefire deal by not laying down its weapons, but the agreement that was actually signed didn’t commit Hamas to disarmament.
The two sides agreed to a US proposal that called for the “demilitarization” of Gaza as a framework for negotiations, but the issue of disarmament was meant to be worked out in follow-up negotiations. Hamas has also maintained that it won’t disarm unless there is movement toward the establishment of a Palestinian state.
