Overnight Israeli airstrikes in Gaza City targeted apartment buildings and killed at least nine people as the IDF’s constant violations of the US-backed ceasefire deal continue.
According to the Palestinian news agency WAFA, at least 15 other people were injured by the attacks, which hit four separate apartment buildings. The al-Shifa Hospital, which received the bodies, said the dead included two women and two children.
“They say the war has stopped, but the war has not stopped,” Walid Shbeir, the uncle of one of the men killed in the strikes, told The Associated Press. “Every night there is killing, and we have martyrs. Every night, in the morning, in the evening, and at night, this killing is continuous for us.”

Israeli strikes continued throughout the day on Thursday, with WAFA reporting seven Palestinians wounded by an Israeli airstrike west of Gaza City. A separate drone attack in Gaza City killed at least one Palestinian and injured another.
Gaza’s Health Ministry said earlier in the day that it recorded the Israeli killing of 11 Palestinians and the wounding of 32 over the previous 24-hour period. “A number of victims are still under the rubble and in the streets, as ambulance and civil defense crews have been unable to reach them so far,” the ministry wrote on Telegram.
Since the so-called ceasefire deal was signed in October 2025, Israeli attacks have killed 947 Palestinians and wounded 2,935, according to the ministry’s numbers. Israel has also violated the deal by taking over more territory in Gaza, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu recently said he directed the IDF to increase the IDF-occupied part of the Strip from 60% of the territory to 70%.
