Israeli forces killed a Palestinian man in southern Gaza on Tuesday, the Palestinian news agency WAFA reported, as Israel’s attacks in the Strip continue amid the US-Israeli war against Iran.
WAFA said the man was deliberately targeted in the al-Satar al-Sharqi area, north of the southern city of Khan Younis. Photos show Palestinians mourning a man, identified as Basel al-Saqqa, at the Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis.
After the US and Israel began bombing Iran on Saturday, Israel closed all crossings into Gaza, cutting off fuel and food supplies, a clear violation of the US-backed Gaza ceasefire deal, which called for the unimpeded flow of humanitarian aid.
Gaza has already begun running low on its fuel and food stocks, though the UN’s World Food Program said on Tuesday that Israel will soon allow aid to enter through the Kerem Shalom crossing in southern Gaza, which suggests Israel intends to only allow a limited amount of food into the Palestinian territory.
Gaza’s Health Ministry said in an update on Tuesday that since the US-backed ceasefire deal was signed in early October, Israeli forces have killed 631 Palestinians and wounded 1,700, a total of more than 2,300 Palestinian casualties.
“A number of victims are still under the rubble and in the streets, as ambulance and civil defense crews have been unable to reach them so far,” the Health Ministry said on Telegram.
The IDF has continued its attacks in violation of the ceasefire deal despite President Trump’s formation of the so-called “Board of Peace,” which held its first meeting less than two weeks before Trump launched a war with Iran.
