On Saturday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky criticized the US for its response to a Russian missile strike that hit the central Ukrainian city of Kryvyi Rih, also known as Krivoy Rogon, on Friday.
Ukrainian officials said the missile strike killed 20 people, including nine children, and injured dozens more. Russia took credit for the attack and claimed that it targeted Ukrainian military commanders and foreign military advisors while they were meeting at a restaurant.
The Russian Defense Ministry claimed the strike “made the enemy lose up to 85 service members and military officers from foreign countries,” but offered no evidence for the assertion.
US Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink responded to the attack by writing on X, “Horrified that tonight a ballistic missile struck near a playground and restaurant in Kryvyi Rih … This is why the war must end.”
Zelensky slammed the US ambassador for not mentioning Russia by name. “Unfortunately, the reaction of the US Embassy was an unpleasant surprise,” he said. “Such a powerful country, such a powerful nation—and such a weak reaction. They are afraid even to say the word ‘Russia,’ speaking about a missile that killed children. Yes, the war must end. But to end it, we must not be afraid to call things by their names.”
Zelensky called for more “pressure” and sanctions on Russia and for President Trump to help Ukraine acquire more air defenses. “We count on our agreements with the President of the United States, who promised to help find more Patriots,” he said.
On Sunday, Brink wrote another post on X that mentioned the same attack and named Russia. “We stand in solidarity with the people of Ukraine on this day of national mourning after a Russian missile attack in Krivvy Rih killed 20, including 9 children,” she said.
Zelensky’s harsh criticism of the US comes amid faltering negotiations between Ukraine and Russia and signs from the Trump administration that the US is ready to continue fueling the proxy war if the peace talks fail. After a brief pause, the US has continued to provide military aid and intelligence to Ukraine despite Zelensky’s frequent criticism of the US and his seeming unwillingness to make concessions for a lasting peace deal with Russia.
It’s always horrendous when the most innocent are killed, no matter where they are from. Russians should feel remorse. The US too for provoking this shitstorm.
I don’t know if legit, but a while back there was a horrible video of murdered children in Kursk, alleged to be committed by Ukrainians who held the area for a short time.
As to Zelensky, has he cried any tears for Palestinian children, after he claimed he wanted Ukraine to be another Israel? I would like to know if his empathy, snd calls for empathy, lies beyond his borders.

But in Palestine its the same but worse but not the same:
1)Gaza's Government Media Office said nearly 500 children have been killed by US-backed Israeli attacks since March 18
2)DEIR AL-BALAH, Gaza Strip (AP) — Palestinians held funerals Monday for 15 medics and emergency responders killed by Israeli troops in southern Gaza, after their bodies and mangled ambulances were found buried in an impromptu mass grave, apparently plowed over by Israeli military bulldozers.
The Palestinian Red Crescent says the slain workers and their vehicles were clearly marked as medical and humanitarian personnel and accused Israeli troops of killing them “in cold blood.” The Israeli military says its troops opened fire on vehicles that approached them “suspiciously” without identification.
More propaganda from the ultimate social media engineering criminals in Ukraine. Not one word of any statement from the Nazi crime organization in Ukraine can be trusted.
Ukraine has been flogging propaganda about Bucha after Ukrainian Nazis killed civilians then blamed Russia. Just one of the many examples of disinformation and lies from Ukraine.
War is horrible, but Ukraine still refuses to negotiate peace. Zelensky will stay at war sucking up a vast personal fortune until the last Ukrainian is no more. This includes men, women, and children.
Zelenskiy's goal is to drive all Russians out of the Ukraine, including Crimea. He also wants reparations from Russia to rebuild. Not once has Zelenskiy asked for less. I'm thinking that, at this point, there's not a chance of either happening so the war will continue until all Putin's SMO objectives are met. This will end when Putin can face the Russian peoples and they believe they have accomplished enough to offset the huge cost in blood and treasure.
How is the US going to condemn Russia for the deaths of a few children when we're actively supporting Israel killing Palestinian children by the thousands? Think of our image and how it would be tarnished if the US government were thought to be associated with even a hint of hypocrisy!

I remember the US bombing a restaurant in Iraq trying to kill Saddam. Birds of a feather, I guess. Can't outdo Israel but disgusting nonetheless.
If the Russian claim that their target was a meeting of Ukrainian military commanders (legitimate military target) is true, then why did the Ukrainians hold this meeting in a restaurant in a residential area? Human shields? Good propaganda against the Russians if there are civilian casualties if the meeting is attacked?
Notice what is missing in this case: unlike when the Americans kill civilians in their attacks the Russians haven't used the term "collateral damage" as an exoneration.
In fact, the term "collateral damage" has not been used once as I recall in the current Russian-Ukrainian war.
