Report: Israeli Drone Kills Three-Year-Old Palestinian in Gaza City

Israeli forces have killed over 100 Palestinians in Gaza since the ceasefire went into effect on January 19

An Israeli quadcopter drone killed a three-year-old Palestinian in the Shujayea neighborhood of Gaza City, the Palestinian news agency WAFA reported on Thursday.

The report identified the victim of the Israeli attack as Amjad Hazem Abed. WAFA also reported that an Israeli drone injured a woman in the northern city of Beit Hanoun.

The latest violence came 12 days into a total siege on all goods entering Gaza that was imposed by Israel at the end of phase one of the ceasefire deal. On top of the blockade, Israel has also stepped up attacks on the Strip.

On Tuesday, an Israeli airstrike killed four Palestinians near the Netzarim Corridor. Locals said the men who were targeted were civilians, while Israel claimed they targeted “terrorists who were engaged in a suspicious activity” without offering evidence.

Israel was also launching repeated attacks in Gaza before the end of phase one of the ceasefire. On February 18, medical sources told Al Jazeera that at least 132 Palestinians had died due to Israeli attacks since the truce went into effect on January 19, including 26 who succumbed to previously sustained wounds.
