President Trump on Monday slammed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky for saying the end of the Ukraine war is “very, very far away” as the two leaders remain at odds after their argument in the Oval Office.
“This is the worst statement that could have been made by Zelenskyy, and America will not put up with it for much longer!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
“It is what I was saying, this guy doesn’t want there to be Peace as long as he has America’s backing and, Europe, in the meeting they had with Zelenskyy, stated flatly that they cannot do the job without the US – Probably not a great statement to have been made in terms of a show of strength against Russia. What are they thinking?” the president added.
Trump was responding to a report from The Associated Press that quoted Zelensky saying a deal with Russia to end the war is still “very, very far away.” Zelensky also insisted that he believes “that Ukraine has a strong enough partnership with the United States of America” to ensure aid keeps flowing, but later in the day, Trump paused all military aid to Ukraine.
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has also said that the US-Ukraine economic deal was no longer on the table after Zelensky chose to “blow it up.”
After Zelensky was kicked out of the White House, he was embraced by European leaders, including British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, who is pushing for a deal that involves a major European troop deployment to Ukraine, an idea Russia has repeatedly rejected. But Starmer’s plan also calls for US security guarantees backed by US air power in Europe.

Trump should act a bit more neutral if negotiations are going to be something that will end with a real peace and not a "peace through strength" one sided in your fucking face take it or leave it kind of deal.

Trump — knowing this, and knowing how UK, France and the rest want US to cover their behinds as they give fresh bodies to fight Z war — had an idea.
Why not giving US the deal, and this US investment would be a guarantee that US would pursue all avenues to peace favorable to Ukraine, so production can start?
The paper to be sugned was a “framework” and it has a clause on “respecting prior agreements”.
But US was going to take that crap — as that was a TEST for Zelenski of his seriousness to give Trump a chance to bring Russians and Ukrainians to the table to negotiate peace.
Zelenski rejected outright. No peace, no ceasefire, no negotiations and no diplomacy. He insulted Vance and lectured him on diplomacy uselessness.
He basically tore up Trump plan to bring the parties to the table. Not interested in peace deal, certainly not with Trump trying to broker the process.
This is why rhis minerals deal had really no value other than test Zelenski’s committment to US and US ability to bring the end to war. Zelenski already sold it, and rejected Trump as peace maker.

Trump's misconstruction attempts to shift primary responsibility to his subordinate. But, for Putin to "make peace" with Z is absurd. He has repeatedly made it clear that NATO , not Z, is the enemy.
