Gaza’s Health Ministry said Thursday that hospitals received 122 more bodies as Palestinians continue to dig the remains of people killed by Israel’s bombing campaign out of the rubble on the fifth day of the ceasefire.
The Health Ministry said that 120 of the bodies were dug out of the rubble, and two Palestinians were killed in the previous 24-hour period. Gaza’s Civil Defense reported that two Palestinians were killed by Israeli tank fire in the south despite the ceasefire.
The ministry also said 306 Palestinians arrived at hospitals with injuries in the same 24-hour period. The fresh bodies brought the ministry’s number of Palestinians killed by Israeli forces since October 2023 to 47,283, and the number of wounded has risen to 111,472.

The numbers only account for dead and wounded Palestinians brought to hospitals, so each body pulled out of the rubble will be added to the death toll, although it’s unclear if each one is counted. Gaza rescue workers estimate 10,000 bodies remain under the rubble.
A recent study published by The Lancet said that the Health Ministry’s numbers are likely a significant undercount and that the real death toll as of October 2024 was likely over 70,000. The study only accounted for violent deaths, not those caused by the US-backed Israeli siege.
Al Jazeera reported that during the first four days of the ceasefire, 3,200 trucks had entered Gaza, a significant surge in deliveries. But there have been issues with distribution, and Palestinians are still suffering greatly due to the lack of real shelter and the total destruction of Gaza’s infrastructure.
Why do they send bodies to the hospital?
So they can get headlines.
Also, all of this assumes that Hamas never tells a lie.
And, Israel and the U.S. are the greatest of the truthful states in the whole wide world.
Most moral too……………
You need a doctor to declare someone dead; paramedics or first-aiders or rescuers cannot do it, for fear of missing faint vitals indicating a deeply comatose or otherwise barely-alive patient.
Additionally, those hospitals the IDF did not intentionally target and destroy, have the only remaining viable morgue facilities to properly store the dead to prevent decomposition from creating widespread health issues among survivors (typhoid, cholera, dysentary et. al.)
to prevent decomposition from creating widespread health issues among survivors (typhoid, cholera, dysentary et. al.)
And that ship sailed long ago.
Polio has returned to Gaza.
"You need a doctor to declare someone dead; paramedics or first-aiders or rescuers cannot do it, for fear of missing faint vitals indicating a deeply comatose or otherwise barely-alive patient." You got to be kidding.
Tim… It's done so they don't have to inflate the numbers of how many innocents were slaughtered. By all accounts the hamas ministry undercounts the dead. Imagine all those holocaust deniers and those who dispute the 6 million+ numbers. How does it make you feel Tim?

Holocaust deniers – you mean, like Hamas, the people you are vouching for?
https://www.washingtoninstitute.org/policy-analysis/palestinian-holocaust-denial
How about the Hamas charter, which includes the well-known fake "The Protocols of the Elders of Zion"?
https://embassies.gov.il/holysee/AboutIsrael/the-middle-east/Pages/The%20Hamas-Covenant.aspx
To be revived… back on streets…and fight back…!
Where to you want them to be sent, special crematoriums, so as to not have names.
Which reminds me, have you read the poem, written in 2015, by Michael Rosen, "Don't Name the Children"? I repeat, written in 2015.
“It’s every man’s war that keeps us apart, with stalwart convictions and affairs of the heart… To struggle for victory, until we are free! The day will soon come, when we’ll all be released”…
The people of Gaza need to be "released" from Hamas, which illegally occupies Gaza, after taking it from the PA in a violent coup. They have no rights or freedoms.
Meanwhile, Israel left Gaza in 2006 and allowed billions in aid to reach the territory. In response, Hamas spent the money on military gear and launched a genocidal attack on Israeli citizens. As the Hamas charter says, violence is the only way to achieve their unwavering goal, the complete destruction of a US ally.
The people in Gaza don't want to be released from Hamas. One of the mistakes Israel made during this war was not realizing that the people of Gaza supported Hamas.
Enough to elect the members of the political side of Hamas in 2006. Judged by outsiders, including President Carter, to have been a fair election.
I would think that 58 years of apartheid might have had something to do with it, as well as the complicity by Fatah (who won some parts of the West Bank).
Perhaps it was Cast Lead. Or Protective Edge.
What followed the election was the execution of a brutal blockade, the worsening of living conditions by Israel and the U.S.
What followed that was the continuation of detentions, shutting off of electricity, shutting off of potable water, shutting down olive groves through burning or flooding the groves with sewage.
I guess you think that was just hunkey dorey, that the Palestinians should have just grinned and enjoyed it.
A shitty attempt at blaming Gazans for being killed.
Of course if they realized that they would have nuked the Gaza Strip.
God bless Hamas! Not only did they stifle the mighty Israeli army, killed and injured thousands, they destroyed the reputation of Israel all over the world. And they recruited thousands of new fighters to boot.
May Hamas continue to haunt you and be your worst nightmare until the end of your days. Could you bear to watch the release of the Israeli captives and prisoners of war? I love those pretty young soldiers who were giving Islamic greetings, thanking Hamas for their food, clothing and protecting them from Israeli bombs. All in Arabic.
Sorry to disappoint you – despite your somewhat pathetic words of hostility directed at me personally – but I see Hamas for what it is, as clearly described in their charter.
They are part of the Nazi Germany-trained Muslim Brotherhood, and they embrace the same views of the subhuman character -the inherent evil – of all Jews (not just Israelis – but anyone of Jewish "blood." Just read their charter, which openly quotes from such "documents" as the Protocols of the Elders of Zion – as factual).
Given their stated goal – as manifested on Oct. 7 – it is clear Hamas will likely not rest until they have exterminated every last Israeli, and taken every inch of Israel.
Given this threat, Israel will do what it needs to do to survive, even if it upsets privileged keffiyeh-wearing Harvard and Columbia students.
The real tragedy is that Hamas launched a war that caused so much senseless death. If Hamas had invested the billions of dollars they received in aid on the people of Gaza, they would have a peaceful and prosperous society today. Instead, they spent their resources on the tools of war – tunnels, military gear, guns, rockets, IES, RPGs, military computers, anti-tank weapons, etc.
You may disagree, but I think their strategy wasn't very successful. No matter how many hostages they take, they will never enjoy the benefits of peace. Even the other Arabs find their behavior distasteful; Egypt kept their border closed with Gaza, and there was no effort by other Arabs to assist Hamas. (Egypt is well-acquainted with the Muslim Brotherhood).
It was a historical and arrogant miscalculation on Hamas' part that achieved nothing except giving Israel the excuse to smash Hezbollah, weaken Iran, and bomb the Houthis, thereby showing the "Axis of Resistance" was toothless and overblown.
So, if you want to look at the destruction of Gaza and the death of thousands of Hamas terrorists as a victory – suit yourself. History has shown that today's victor can be next year's loser. The Canaanites, the Israelites, and Romans, the Byzantines, various Muslim empires, the Mongols, the Persians, the Crusaders, the Ottoman, and the British empire all held sway over the area for a while; nothing is permanent, and maybe someday the Palestinians will retake the area, with help from Russia-Iran-China-North Korea.
But that day isn't today. Today, Hamas, Hezbollah, Iran, and the Houthis have all been damaged, and Israel remains strong. If you don't believe me, ask Yahya "the stick" Al-Sinwar (oh wait, you can't, because he's in Hell right now, being tormented by demons).
I can't find the words to describe my admiration of the will of the Palestinian people.
Do you also admire them taking hostages, killing young people at a dance party, bombing busses, torturing their own people and killing hostages to prevent them from being freed by the IDF?
Those things you listed pale in comparison to what Israel has done to the Palestinians. Not. Even. Close.
According to hostages exchange one Israeli is worth 30 to 50 Palestinians depending on the exchange. The Palestinians agreed to this exchange so quit your whining about the ratio of Palestinians to Israel death in this war.
Concerning Israel, when are you going to come out of your basement?
He's been called on that many times. Don't expect a response on that one.
How in the fuck are those two things related? They're NOT! The reason there are so many Palestinians released as compared to Israeli's is because SO MANY Palestinians are being held in prisins. But somehow that justifies Israel killing anything that moves? Jesus, you are either willfully ignorant or you are just one dumb motherfucker.
Don't mind Tim. I have analyzed him. It's his way of staying relevant. Otherwise, he would just shrivel up and die in some dark corner, out of sight, out of mind.
In other words: blind and crazy.
I guess you can say that. He is a glutton for punishment.
LOL. Is he, like, insinuating that an Israeli life is worth more than a Palestinians life? I think he really believes that.
Yes. He's done it repeatedly.
I'll take that as an inclusive "or".
Don't disturb his fantasy.
Every time I think it mathematically impossible for you to say something dumber than your personal best, you manage to divide by 0 and come up with a hateful, ignorant, propagandistic screed that undermines even yourself.
And yet you keep reading by comments. LOL. BTW "you manage to divide by 0 " that is quite an accomplishment would you not say? Perhaps I am only taking a limit of a function as its variable approaches zero.
@unclesapien:disqus reads your comments for the same reason we all do. 1. Its to provide you the only life line to humanity that you have strayed so far away from. 2. Your posts –and the reasoned arguments you receive in response– serve as a teaching moment for those who stumble upon your dribble, and 3. The humor we all get out of you ridiculing yourself.
Do you admire the IDF for killing hostages to prevent them from being taken to Gaza? https://www.haaretz.com/israel-news/2024-07-07/ty-article-magazine/.premium/idf-ordered-hannibal-directive-on-october-7-to-prevent-hamas-taking-soldiers-captive/00000190-89a2-d776-a3b1-fdbe45520000
Palestinians don't have to be pacifist victims. They did not choose to be placed in this asymmetrical violence. Like Mandela said the the occupier determines the violence posture. They have visited nothing but violence on the palestinians in taking their homes since 48. Don't expect a bed of roses in response.
They didn't torture their own people. That's just not a serious argument.
I only heard of one incident where Abu Obeida said one of the guards killed an Israeli captive after hearing about his family being slaughtered. Hamas said it was not sanctioned and was being investigated. This information was volunteered by Hamas because they actually have an internal system of accountability. And anyway the IDF killed most of them by bombings. Remember those 3 poor Israeli captives that were slaughtered by their own soldiers?

False and delusional statements.
1. People who get along with their neighbors are not "victims". They are civilized. Negotiations and agreements are the basis for civilization – that is why this site is called "Antiwar", because nonviolent solutions are generally preferred to violence ones.
Jordan and Egypt signed peace agreements with Israel. They are not victims, although Hamas views them this way, as they say in their charter. It seems you agree with Hamas.
2. Yes, they did choose their own history. Many Palestinian leaders (such as al-Husseini) chose to confront Zionists rather than work peacefully with them – going back to the 1920s.
ttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amin_al-Husseini
When the UN proposed a peaceful solution, the Arab League and many Palestinian leaders chose war, declaring that the issue would be settled by war.
3. Mandela and South Africa are not the same model as the Arab/Jewish conflict. It is the Arabs who were the invaders and outsiders; their mosques are built on top of the temples and churches of Jews and Christians – not the other way around.
4. In all wars, there are refugees. There were millions of refugees after WWII, after the Indian-Pakistan war, and so on.
5. Yes, Hamas tortures and executes people in Gaza. That is well-documented and confirmed. You can pretend whatever you want, though.
For example, it is well-documented that when Yahya Sinwar was in prison, they would not only kill other prisoners who were suspected of being "informants" – they would chop up their bodies and pass them through the prison doors. These guys are psychotic.
Absolutely agree !
I would salute them…!
They will never find everyone, sadly.
Not unless they collect the feces from the animals that feasted on the bodies. And I remember when Israel bombed a "tent city" they told people to evacuate to and the bodies were so badly blown to bits that the Palestinians had to collect the remains of those human beings in 7o kilo increments to determine the number of people killed. So yeah, there are a shitload of people that will never be accounted for.
A billion times more pulverized human beings than 9/11, and they haven’t all been accounted for.
Well, it was extremely critical that the WTC rubble be collected and disposed at sea as quickly as possible to prevent proper and thorough forensics, so, bodies just had to be estimated by other means.
Beyond the “dancing Israelis”, I am going down the Maxwell/ Epstein rabbit hole. It sure plays like blackmail.
I diverge into the likelihood that the virus discovered earlier by Epstein and Attorney-General Barr, leads back to the Wuhan Institute.
Curious that Epstein died a few months before COVID-19 escaped…?
Is there somewhere to read this, or is this a joke?
It acknowledges only a weird coincidence between Epstein & Barr as codiscoverers on the virus named after them, AND an Epstein on trial and a Barr as Attorney General who faced calls to recuse himself from involvement in prosecution.
Beyond that, it has little more weight than my belief that Albert Brooks is the son of Mel Brooks.
I already got the joke.
You and your dad jokes, lol!
Melvin Kaminsky……..
Oh epstein barr, you!
But seriously:
From the cradle:
Yikes. A LOT not said behind what Sha-mon-Shamir did say…
For many who were crushed many months ago, all that remains of them are skeletons and stains. Nothing to recover. Men, women, children, babies, elderly. Entire families.
Skeletons. Stains.
The Health Ministry said that 120 of the bodies were dug out of the rubble, and two Palestinians were killed in the previous 24-hour period. Gaza’s Civil Defense reported that two Palestinians were killed by Israeli tank fire in the south despite the ceasefire.
Where the fuck is Witkoff? I though he was supposed to be monitoring the "ceasefire". Tank fire??
He took a moment to admire his MISSION ACCOMPLISHED banner before jetting off to meet a delegation from the Islamic Republic of Iran
One again you show your lack of understanding. Just because there is a ceasefire, does not mean Israel troops will not defend themself. Any Palestinians getting close to an IDF position will be considered hostile and will be shot.
Any?
You mean children, women,elderly?
You are just repeating the words and thoughts of Smotrich and Ben-Gvir.
How about the three escaped, unarmed,Israeli men who were waving a white flag before being gunned down by the IDF? What became of that self investigation? Hmmm?
Can you imagine that? They kill their own out of utter fear and depravity. Unfortunately we don't have to imagine what they do to Palestinians.
And once again you talk out of your ass. You have no clue as to the situation but you reflexively back anything the barbarians do. Getting killed by tank fire because they got too close to Israeli positions? Sure, why not.
Tim, caution them to be careful not to shoot the captives like they did with those three poor Israelis. How does it feel to become what you hate? @warsrus:disqus@unclesapien:disqus
There are hundreds of thousands under the rubble. The Genocide was very real. Those who survived will be affected for life.
Yes. Sadly so.
Who kills school children?! ISRAHELL!!!
https://www.presstv.ir/Live
And the Palestinians when they blew busses in Israel before the walls were build to keep Palestinians out of Israel.
Under international law, the occupied have the right to fight back against the occupier.
You have read of the bombing by the Zionists prior to 1948?
The Warsaw Ghetto uprising?
Hamas has specifically said that it does not target "civilians." Unfortunately, the Israeli military hides in its fortified bases. Hamas was relegated to soft targets, such as off duty reservists on buses going to and from their military bases or hangouts that Israeli soldiers frequent. In those instances bystanders were killed. The proof that many of these were soldiers is to follow their burial. They are buried in military cemetaries. And most Israelis are required to join the military. Its a Spartan nation.
