Gaza’s Health Ministry said Wednesday that hospitals received another 54 bodies of people killed by Israel’s onslaught as Palestinians continue to dig remains out of the rubble.
The Health Ministry said that 53 of the bodies came out of the rubble, while one Palestinian died of previously sustained wounds. “There are still a number of victims under the rubble and on the streets, and ambulance and civil defense crews cannot reach them,” the ministry wrote on Telegram.
The ministry said the recovered bodies have brought its death toll since October 2023 to 47,161, a number that’s considered a significant undercount. Each body that’s brought to a hospital will be added to the death toll, but in many cases, rescuers are only finding bones that are then buried near where they’re found, and it’s unclear if they’re being counted.

“In most cases, they are finding only bones or bodies that are unrecognizable. They bury them in areas near their targeted houses,” said Al Jazeera reporter Hind Khoudary. “This isn’t a matter of several months – many Palestinians have been trapped under the rubble for more than a year.”
Khoudary said there are at least 11,000 Palestinians unaccounted for who are believed to be buried under the rubble. Gaza rescuers have said there are at least 10,000 bodies buried in the debris.
Also on Wednesday, a Palestinian civilian was killed and four others were injured by an Israeli drone despite the ceasefire, according to the Palestinian news agency WAFA.
The WAFA report reads: “Local sources reported that an Israeli quadcopter drone opened fire on a group of civilians near a playground in the al-Shaboura refugee camp. The group was working on cleaning and clearing the rubble from their homes when the attack occurred, resulting in the killing of a 28-year-old civilian and the wounding of four others.”
Later in the day, the Israeli military claimed that it fired on a group of armed militants in southern Gaza and killed a Palestinian Islamic Jihad fighter.
Since the ceasefire came into effect on Sunday, at least four Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces in Gaza, according to Antiwar.com’s count, which is based on media reports.
Now the war is on hold, the Hamas propaganda will issue daily accounts of bodies found. And as normal no breakdown of fighters versus civilians.
Propaganda exists on all sides Tim…
"So Major Timothy Burns was on a return flight to Tel Aviv, and he struck up a conversation with an American seated next to him.
"'An American university professor of political affairs !' Burns exclaims. 'Interesting ! What brings you to Israel ?'
"'I'm here to study Israeli propaganda,' the professor replies.
"'What Israeli propaganda ?' Burns asks, confused.
"'Exactly,' replies the professor."
Man, you are one sick fuck. Maybe they can send the decomposed bodies to the forensic lab so they can determine if the dead were Hamas or civilians. And after that, they can follow the wild dogs around and collect their shit. They can then send the dog shit to the lab to determine if it contains any human remains and whether those remains are Hamas or civilians.
I'd be surprised if the fighter to civilian ratio were as high as 10%. 2 or 3% is probably more likely. All of those women and children killed were probably NOT fighters.
Just give Peace a chance!!!
What Peace? What chance? Netanyahu killed them already.
To find out how many were killed, I think it would be easier and quicker to count the living than the dead.
That will lead to numbers that none of the combatants want to admit. Hamas and Islamic Jihad don't want to admit that they were not able to protect their people, and Israel/US doesn't want to have proof of genocide.
That’s a great point, Brian! WOW! I didn’t think of that Hamas angle. You are smarter than I am and must be better at math too!
I don’t know about that, I may just be more cynical (not necessarily a good thing, according to my wife).
A higher Palestinian death toll works in favour of Hamas in any respect. I don't think the Hamassians claimed they could protect everyone everywhere all at once, especially not against so formidable an alliance as the IDF and USA.
Nice picture that accompanies the article (/s). I'm waiting for one of our hasbara trolls (paid or unpaid) to tell us there are people walking around in that pile of rubble so there can't possibly be anyone buried under that pile of rubble. You know, like how they say that there are no people starving in Gaza since they can't see people that are starving in Gaza.
Is anyone honestly surprised?
The 10,000 buried number is almost certainly a massive under count, since they've been using that number since December of 2023.
