Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told President Biden in a phone call on Sunday that Israel had to launch a ground invasion into the besieged Gaza Strip and ruled out the idea of negotiations, Axios reported on Monday.
“We have to go in. We can’t negotiate now,” Netanyahu told Biden, according to US and Israeli sources. On the same day, US officials told the media that they expected Israel to launch an invasion within 48 hours.
The report said President Biden did not press Netanyahu or try to convince him not to go through with the ground incursion as the US has shown no interest in calling for de-escalation. Secretary of State Antony Blinken deleted a tweet where he said he was “encouraging” Turkish efforts to push for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.
Since the Sunday Biden-Netanyahu phone call, Israel announced it called up 300,000 reservists, ordered a “complete siege” on Gaza, and said they were fighting “human animals” in the enclave, which is populated by over two million people, including about one million children.
Israel has also kept up relentless airstrikes in Gaza since Hamas launched its attack on Saturday. Since the Hamas attack was launched on Saturday, nearly 2,000 people have been killed, including about 1,000 Israelis and 900 Palestinians.
President Biden delivered a speech on Tuesday affirming his full support for Israel’s military operations. “In this moment, we must be crystal clear,” Biden said. “We stand with Israel. We stand with Israel.”
The US has started sending more military aid to Israel, deployed an aircraft carrier strike group to the region, and offered intelligence and other types of support for a potential hostage rescue operation in Gaza.
The Biden administration never misses an opportunity to double down on despicable warmongering.
It’s like W never left office.
Deja vu all over . . . again.
Doesn’t seem to matter who the POTUS is. The foreign policy never changes. The faces change that’s all.
“We have to go in. We can’t negotiate now”
He was never going to anyways. Now we wait to see how much more he’ll consolidate his grip to stay indefinitely. After all, who would dare to question him when the country is under terror attack.
Muslim world sees it differently. In the eyes of Muslims, it is Palestine people who are under permanent terrorist attack since the creation of Israel. So, Muslims justify any attack against Israel. As US is getting weaker and BRICS, which includes now three Muslim countries, is getting stronger, the pressure against Israel will grow.
Rashida Tlaib issued a statement calling for the US to stop all aid to Israel. Her statement declared that US aid to the Israel is the root cause of the violence in Israel/Palestine. The Palestinian flag is still displayed on the door of Tlaib’s office with fellow members now calling for a ban on the flag. As far as I know Tlaib is the only member of Congress who continues to oppose Us aid to Israel.
She deserves our support on this issue now.

Israel has the bomb. Nuclear bomb. More, lots more than a bomb. That was supposed to be a disqualifier for Israel to receive funds from the U.S. Yet, we still send $3.8 billion per year to Israel.
Well that is just a rumor isn’t it?
ha!
My upvote was based on that being sarcasm.
Cori Bush (Missouri) and Ilhan Omar have joined Rashida Tlaib in calling for all US aid to Israel to be stopped.
The Palestinian flag is still displayed outside Tlaib’s DC office.

As of yesterday, I heard some quacking about Congress maybe passing a rule forbidding display of flags of foreign countries at congressional offices.
Then that talk seems to have disappeared. Perhaps it occurred to them that the US doesn’t recognize Palestine as a country, so her flag could remain while their Israeli flags would have to come down.
US tried to get Egypt to go in. No takers.
But they did alert them of the immanent attack.
Suicidal mission…! Hamas is waiting for them on their turf…!
Oh it isn’t suicidal the Israelis have good equipment. There will be casualties though.
This time their invasion of Gaza will not be a cakewalk. Hamas had plenty of time to prepare the defense. Bombardment of Gaza hurts first of all the civilians. Massive murder of Arab children will work against Israel. If it goes too far, Hezbollah interferes and all Muslim world will unite against Israel. Even if this time Israel prevails, next time it will be worse.
Lot more casualties on both sides. We all know in the end the border will stay the same.
Yes it will.
We can only hope afterwards they concentrate on lifting people out poverty after (ME countries do have the money) instead of wiping Israel off the map.
Israel will only agree with a 2 state solution if the other state is not wanting a single one eventually with them in charge and everyone worshiping correctly.
Poverty empowers such beliefs that cause war like this one.
Israel will only agree with a 2 state solution if the other state is not wanting a single one eventually with them in charge and everyone worshiping correctly.
Wow, you just described what Israel is today. Look at a 1967 map.
Muslims are not allowed to worship within Israeli borders? When did that happen?
Are there any places for Jews to worship in Gaza?
If there are, when did that happen?
Maybe you are correct and it is only Israel who is in the way of a peaceful two-state solution but if the news reports are true the last 2 years one side was planning for this so maybe they were not wanting a peaceful deal?
Also if Iran was heavily involved, where are their drones? Why would they supply Russia but not Hamas with them and they are using those underground made ones?
Any Mosques stormed in Israel lately? Is anyone in Israel who is a Muslim have the right to self-determination? Ever hear of the Jewish Nation State Law? And why would the prisoners, er I mean inhabitants of Gaza plan a rebellion for the last two years against those who make a two-state solution more impossible every day? What “peaceful deal” was available during that period or any period since the blockade was imposed? And I don’t know why you brought up Iran.
I’m pretty sure those terrorists, when they said they wanted to destroy Israel (and tried to) had a few things with how things went for the inhabitants of Gaza.
There used to be factories there but Hamas shut those down.
Poor desperate people are easier led aren’t they?
It has been a circular argument doing tit for tat for years but it does look like to me Hamas won’t survive this one nor will they destroy Israel.
Just way too many people are going to die needlessly over the next weeks is all we can be sure of now.
I’m pretty sure those terrorists, when they said they wanted to destroy Israel (and tried to) had a few things with how things went for the inhabitants of Gaza.
What is that in response to?
There used to be factories there but Hamas shut those down.
Any links?
I have to prove to you that Gaza used to have a lot less poverty in the past than today?
Isn’t their terrible increasing poverty one of reasons behind the terrorism from last week?
Was that before or after the blockade when Hamas came to power?
You dont know they forced their way into power relatively recently?
Forced? How so? And Israel preferred them over the PLO.
Oh, I thought you knew the history of that area well.
You have a nice day but this is getting too mindless to continue.
They were elected in 2006. Israel’s preference.
Please, it’s Sunday.
This site is full of Jhaters who would ❤️ to bash Jews with you.
I don’t hate Jews. I don’t even dislike them. I don’t blame Jews for the actions of the Israeli government any more than I blame the majority of Gazans for Hamas’ actions.
Elected my ass.
You are so funny for calling that an election.
Jew hate is strong with this one like most on this site.
“If you sponsor an election or promote democracy and freedom around the world, then when people make their own decision about their leaders, I think that all the governments should recognize that administration and let them form their government,” Carter said.
https://edition.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/meast/02/01/carter.hamas/
Jew haters like you are funny.
Make me 😃 at you more.
And assholes like you are also funny. Whan in doubt whip out the old antisemitic card. Once more, I don’t hate Jews. I do, on the other hand, hate assholes that justify Israel’s barbaric treatment of Palestinians and then claim anyone bitching about it to be a Jew hater. Fits so nicely.
Excuses by the Hamas supporters are getting so 😫
This has to be the oddest named site there ever was.
A antiwar Hamas excusing commentator like you is something else too.
You just keep making shit up. I’m no more a Hamas supporter than you. I’m just not a big fan of the Israeli regime either. Unlike you, that can overlook brutality on one side but not the other. Just like the people you’re bitching about. But most of them are like me, they bitch about Israel while at the same time they also have contempt for Hamas. You on the other hand probably don’t understand the man kicking dog analogy, so I won’t use it.
No one wants the Palestinians even today.
But it’s all the other person’s fault because they don’t turn the other cheek as the Palestinians have tried to destroy them for decades now.
I just 🙏 Israel does not be proportional as you lefty MSNBC-types demand when they go in.
Military targets should hit hard but proportionality calls for crimes against women and babies.
Most at this site might cheer such stuff against those they hate but normal people don’t.
Right. The Palestinians are the occupiers. And they are the ones with the state-of-the-art military and have the complete backing of the US. How foolish of me not to have realized that after all these decades.
Why do you hate ✡️?
Why do you love Hamas?
Why does this site call itself “antiwar”?
I bet you even blame Hama’s errant rocket that blew up that ammo dump (masquerading as a hospital) on Israel 🇮🇱.
Jhate does show your ❤️ Mr. War.
That’s your reply? So, when you’ve got nothing, you just go back to the standard tripe?
✡️ haters like just about everyone here are no one to take that seriously.
Decently written articles for the most part but the hate in this comment section is crazy with Hamas ❤️.
Different day, same shit.
Israel is not going into Gaza any time soon, they will bomb for at least three weeks
… and always only targeting “militants”.
Biden’s near-east strategies are in shambols.
There are moments in this life when pure, unadulterated evil is unleashed on the world,” Biden said
If only Hamas had given their unadulterated evil a cute little name like “Shock and Awe”.
Kudos, comic comment of the day 🙂 If only they had jets and bombs, $3B annual in US military aid, a military and shoes.
How about Mission Accomplished?
How about “evil doers”
Neighboring countries must be heard from; the Arab League is meeting in Cairo today. Arab League foreign ministers will discuss ways
“to stop the Israeli aggression” against the Gaza Strip, the pan-Arab
group said in a statement.
Arab League is a feckless and irrelevant organization
You got that right.
There is a lot we don’t know yet.
We do know Biden is an idiot functionary of the MICC.
I hate to indulge in speculation but there are many ways to do so.
The US/UK/Israel keep using radical Sunni’s for proxy wars but radical Sunni groups run the biggest terror ops that spur the Proletariat to support more of the same?
I want off this ride……………
Israel will not win this war, just like Ukraine will not win their war of mass murder ethnic cleansing and genocide.
Israel’s defence minister described Palestinians as “human animals” and vowed to “act accordingly,” as fighter jets unleashed a massive bombing campaign on the Gaza Strip. Didn’t we hear this rhetoric with the Nazi’s, Subhumans?
Yoav Gallant announced a “complete siege” of the Gaza Strip, an area of about 365 square km, and home to 2.3 million Palestinians, which has been under an Israeli-led blockade since 2007. Wasn’t this the tactics that the Nazi’s used, Stalingrad?
“I have ordered a complete siege on the Gaza Strip. There will be no electricity, no food, no fuel, everything is closed,” Gallant said. Isnt this genocide as a collective punishment, ethnic cleansing and mass murder?
The Israeli air force has dropped 2,000 munitions and more than 1,000 tonnes of bombs on Gaza in the last 20 hours, the army said on Monday morning, having shelled 20 high-rise residential buildings, mosques, hospitals, banks and other civilian infrastructure.
The FINAL SOLUTION, KILL THEM ALL.
I agree, like the Nazis … or the YHWH ( aka NTNYH) command on the fate of the Moabites.
“There could be no greater calamity than a permanent discord between us and the Arab people. Despite the great wrong that has been done us [in the western world], we must strive for a just and lasting compromise with the Arab people. … Let us recall that in former times no people lived in greater friendship with us than the ancestors of these Arabs.”
–Einstein
Demented Biden and neocons and Netanyahu may not know who Einstein was.
Two criminals of a feather flock together. Of course, diplomacy is out of the question. But neither one of them can be trusted, they are bad people and have picked bad people to work with.
“We have to go in,” as Biden kisses Netanyahu’s a$$. This time Biden kissed and licked so hard, Netanyahu was not the only one to develop a rash. Poor Netanyahu. He’ll probably give another speech in Congress soon and his a$$ will be on fire after hundreds of politicians do the same. (Sarcasm but had to be said)
There is already talk of asking for money for both Israel and Ukraine in the same package to blackmail Republicans who oppose support for Ukraine.
Maybe they could have Zelensky give a speech right after Netanyahu’s. We could have them competing for aid with the winner being the one with the most noses buried up their asses.
Bring in Taiwan and you would have a triple X porn flick.
People have already seen this movie.
In a word, Despicable. It would be satisfying if Biden and Netenyahoo went down together, perhaps the dock at the Hague, because that’s where they both belong.
Hezbollah tells Iran “we have to go into Shebaa Farms”…!
I have to recommend this podcast: Extremist Politics in Israel and Ukraine – Alastair Crooke, Alexander Mercouris and Glenn Diesen
https://rumble.com/v3okn3w-extremist-politics-in-israel-and-ukraine-alastair-crooke-alexander-mercouri.html
The discussion by Alistair Crooke of Israeli domestic politics is revealing/informative beyond anything I have read or heard elsewhere. I cannot recommended it highly enough to anyone who seeks to understand the social and political situation in Israel today, the circumstances in which Netanyahu finds himself, and the conditions surrounding the current conflict.
The Arab Summit in Cairo today was no help at this “extraordinary Arab League meeting”

What troubles me is the change in the character of modern warfare that has been on display in Ukraine. Tanks and armored personnel carriers, when visible, are now subject to destruction by extremely cheap drones.
Close air support has always been vulnerable to manpads, which is to say Stingers, and by all indications many of the Stingers and Javelins sent to Ukraine in large numbers by the US have been siphoned off and sold into the international arms black market.
Has Hamas acquired even limited quantities of these modern American weapons? If so, the urban warfare that Israel faces if it invades Gaza is likely to have a decidedly new and challenging character for the invading IDF.
This is already ugly, and although difficult to imagine, it could get even uglier.
Which means Gaza will be leveled before any ground invasion.
Thats what the Nazi’s did in Stalingrad. It was a mistake, once Stalingrad was levelled the Nazi’s couldn’t get their armour in. It led to a protracted infantry war of attrition which the Nazi’s lost.
I find myself almost always in alignment with you. And I understand and sympathize with the logic and passion behind your comment. But just yesterday I went on Google Maps and looked at Gaza. Like any populated area with millions of residents, it is vast. Yes it may be, in terms of comparative land area relatively small, But there is just no way that “leveling it” is practical. Not real. No matter the passion that fuels the assertion.
I agree they will most certainly bomb the living crap out of it, attempting to kill as many Hamas principles as possible, exacting collective punishment/revenge on the rest of the Gaza population … for the emotional satisfaction of the Israeli population and the political requirements of the Israeli leadership … but to negligible military effect.
One detail: I suspect that there is a vast underground complex of tunnels and bunkers where, like any organization subject to military assault, Hamas can safely maintain their command structure, forces, and military equipment inventory.
Others have said it: bombing is immensely destructive and visually impressive, but how effective can it actually be when it is oft repeated that the “real work” can only be accomplished by “boots on the ground”. So we have massive civilian casualties from a bombing campaign, that’s the tragedy’s Act one. Then Act 2 begins, where the IDF “boots on the ground” go in. Mythology aside, they are not supermen, And Hamas has had a long time to prepare.
It’s too nasty to contemplate. I think I’ll just go watch reruns of the The Big Bang Theory.
I don’t disagree with you. I probably used a poor choice of words. Put it this way, I think the IDF will only do a ground invasion after a significant bombing campaign. They’re not used to having anyone actually shooting back at them.
Guaranteed.
The Wardens preparing to enter the Cell Blocks and perform a Shakedown Inspection.
Fuck Netanyahu. Fuck Israel. Btw, Israel did 9-11.
