It’s unlikely that Israel will attack Russia or China, preemptively or otherwise, for the simple reason that Russian and Chinese nuclear arsenals would mean the end of Israel inside of half an hour. Deterrence in the case of these three nuclear powers is effective. Consequently both Israel and Russia (China is not really involved) will maintain a posture of judicious restraint. What’s more, any Israeli nuclear attack on Russia would be limited, whereas a Russian retaliatory nuclear response on Israel would be comprehensive. So both sides will exercise restraint.

                On the other hand, should nuclear war break out between the United States and Russia, Israel will most certainly be targeted for destruction.

                That threat is an element in the larger nuclear deterrence mechanism.
