Israel DM Seeks More US Actions Against Iran

Gantz sees opportunity for regional change

Visiting DC to meet with his US counterpart, Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz pushed for the US to build up a bigger regional coalition against Iran, and take more actions generally against Iran.

Gantz argued anti-Iran actions could lead to a “significant change” with improved cooperation. Defense Secretary Austin reiterated his commitment to Israeli security.

The US had other matters to raise, including the violent Israeli crackdown on the funeral of a slain al-Jazeera journalist. The indications, however, are that Gantz wanted to just talk about Iran, and that’s what happened.

To the extent anything other than Iran came up, Gantz assured the US of support on the Ukraine War. Though here too the focus was that the US needs to be regionally focused on Iran.
