Iran FM: Biden Can Lift Sanctions With Three Executive Orders

US could return to deal quickly

President Trump unilaterally withdrew the US from the Iran nuclear deal. The silver lining, per Iran  FM Javad Zarif, is that President-elect Biden could undo this with three executive orders.

While the Trump Administration has suggested it is all but impossible to return to the deal, Zarif sees three simple moves that would return the US 5o the deal, and bring everything back into order.

The outgoing administration has tried to complicate any measures with more and more sanctions, and some top Democrats have suggested Biden wouldn’t return to the deal without making it much worse for Iran.

Yet talk of revisions haven’t been confirmed by Biden himself, and rather he is said to be interested in getting back to the Obama-era deal that Trump tossed aside. Now, it seems, he has the opportunity to do that in fairly short order.

Hostility toward Iran is a recurring problem, and Biden may face resistance. Yet since breaking the deal was done with executive orders and little debate, repairing it could be the same thing.
