A possible resolution to the Belarus power struggle emerged Monday, when President Lukashenko said he would be willing to hand over power if a referendum calls for him to do so. He says he won’t step down just from demands of protesters.
Lukashenko has been Belarussian president since 1994, which is the entire history of the office. Sviatiana Tsikhanouskaya is also claiming the office now since the recent, contested election, which Lukashenko has claimed is a color-coded revolution.
Tsikhanouskaya is now calling on the military to switch to her side, and says she’s ready to assume power. That seems unlikely, barring anything sudden, with a referendum the most likely outcome.
Critics suggested Lukashenko was buying time with the referendum. He had previously said he’d rather be killed than have another election.

10,000 anti govt demonstrators
more US destabilization regime change efforts…the dying empire is desperate
Another Guaido! She is ready to take power, a housewife with presidential ambitions!
If every post election unhappiness is to be taken seriously — then most of the Western leaders are illegitimate.
The tricks tried in Belarus are classics. Trotsky style money bags to union leaders, Maidan style appeal to “nationalists”, Venezuela style “I am ready to be President”.
It is however a proof — if ever one was needed — that EU is a weak puppet, perhaps even a willing puppet of US. Without bothering to check facts, to see what is really going on — EU went straight into sanctions regime.
EU basically WANTS to continue conflict with Russia, and is looking for fresh excuses. Old ones are getting stale — American elections, Skripals, Malaysian plane, sports doping, hacking. So, a nice, new juicy conflict is needed.
It has gone full bizarre crazy — the list of prohibited trade partners in South East Europe is growing. First it was Russia, then Turkey then China. While at the same time — EU could not care less how they live and is thoroughly unconcerned if they have food on the table.
It is this regimented and demented demand that others must listen to them or else which is worrisome in European behavior.
Now, as a US subcontractor, EU is to poke at Belarus and Russia, is sticking its nose in Libya problem where the entire West lost its plot, and is eager to get involved in Greece-Cyprus-Turkey spat, which really is ALL about Israel.
Israel is claiming its EEZ in Eastern Mediterranean — even though it is not a signatory to UNCLOS. But Israel could not care less for laws. unless afraid of consequences.
So, drilling for gas — and desiring European markets!
Here comes US to the rescue! Gas from Israel (and some from Cyprus, to be a fig leaf to Israeli operation), is to be taken by pipeline to Greece and entire Europe! Never mind it cannot match Russian capacities.
But Europe already has Nord Stream, and building new capacity, and the Turk Stream is coming from Turkey to Bulgaria. Both carrying Russian gas!
So, for the sake of Israel — Russian relationship to Europe has to be continuously wrecked. And China that did not follow diktats and distance from Russia — is pushed from Europe as well. All US grievances against China have this element — China cannot remain close to Russia and do happily business with the West. Same goes for Turkey.
Turkey, daring to claim part of Mediterranean and obstruct Israel’s plans to export gas — is an affront to US.
This is why Turkey and UN recognized government of Libya in Tripoli signed maritime deal on Mediterranean shelf rights. And now — Greece and Egypt signed a competing one!
So, if Israel hopes that Turkey and Greece will ever come to terms on Mediterranean shelf to allow Israel pipeline to Europe — it can wait till hell freezes over.
