For the US government, killing Iranians, particularly those with government positions, is seen as a generally positive thing. This has some in the administration seeing Iran’s coronavirus crisis as an opportunity of sorts.
Coronavirus has killed more than 700 Iranians so far, and infected many thousands. These aren’t all specific targets of the US, but there are some senior Iranian officials among them, and the administration sees those deaths as taking a toll on Iranian decision-making.
Gen. Kenneth McKenzie says the US believes the overall impact may be bigger than anyone knows right now, and that the US is still assessing things. He added that it’s going to hurt Iran in the short-term, and that “of course, death is permanent.“
The US had previously withdrawn some troops from the Middle East, saying Iran is so weakened by the virus they don’t pose as big of a threat. Following that up with attacks on Iraqi Shi’ite militias, however, they are now playing up the risk of Iranian retaliation.
Assessments were that Iran doesn’t want a war, which is fairly obvious. At the same time, if the administration takes that to justify picking fights with Iran, they’re certain to provoke something eventually. That’s true no matter how many people the virus kills.
I hope Gen. Kenneth McKenzie gets it and dies.
COVID-19 panic seems to have been a pretext to crash the oil derivatives bubble that prevented a Trump war with Iran. It has all the feel of a hybrid hoax; real virus, but stupid reason to panic.

COVID-19 isn’t nearly as deadly as the cold and flu every year. The captured alternative media and MSM news simply chose to highlight COVID-19 despite no hard comparative data with normal cold and flu strains, just past Alphabet viruses.
https://www.cdc.gov/flu/about/burden/index.html
The damage to the U.S. economy even if things don’t get any worse should nonetheless discourage war with Iran, and increases the burden of the existing wars. No functioning economy, no war possible.
The oil price crash unwound a elite quadrillion dollar bubble into trillions in middle class stock market losses, which will affect employment and overall fiscal health.
Maximum pressure may be on Iran, and on the U.S. to go to war with Iran or globalist money will remain withdrawn from U.S. markets, but to hell with the globalists.
Why are you trying to downplay this pandemic? It is far more deadly than the cold and flu. Try to keep up.
Why are you so determined to promote panic? That will kill people, far more than the virus ever could, if China is any example.
Look past the hype. Stuff does not add up.
If China’s overall death rate falls this year, its because there were far fewer opportunities for traffic accidents and sharply reduced air pollution..
The pandemic is a hybrid-hoax; real and deadly virus, but still just a cold. The 2017-18 cold and flu season was extremely severe; recall any panic over 80,000 U.S. deaths alone?
https://www.cdc.gov/flu/about/season/flu-season-2017-2018.htm.
(Note: The CDC is beginning to take down pages…)

The coronavirus is a cold virus, and may become a new normal even with a vaccine.
With 5x the U.S. population, China’s 2017-18 cold/flu season could have racked up 400,000 deaths that same year.
In 2020 Covid-19 has only racked up 3226 deaths in China, and forget about comparably accurate stats for influenza and rhinovirus strains.
Were you planning on living in and harping on a constant state of mortal fear every cold/flu season?
So far, in the US, the virus has killed 68 people as of yesterday (officially, that we know of, since the first US case was noticed on January 21 — in fact, the virus had already likely been here for two months and was well into “community spread,” meaning it won’t be contained, by then).
That’s about as many as the flu kills on a slow day.
It’s about what heart disease and cancer kill every hour of every day, 24/7/365.
The panic is almost certainly killing several times as many people per day as the virus.
Never let a good crisis go to waste, right?
No limits to US depravity.
Pure evil.
Trump is shaking hands with little regard to the virus. Pence just put out a memo telling white house officials that shaking hands isn’t really all that bad. Maybe the virus will do to us what we are hoping it will do to Iran. Not that I wish anything bad happening to Trump and Pence other than a slow, painful……
I totally agree.
When Iran had an earthquake, George Bush sent aid. I don’t agree with much he did but that was right and even the Christian thing to do.
Pretty sad when George is making you look bad.
After 9/11, Iran was one of the first to send condolence and offer assistance and help to the US.
Bush responded later in his state of the union by including Iran to the axes of evil.
You are quite correct.
Depravity in the extreme!
These cretins are absolute ghouls, gleefully dancing about on the news of suffering of innocent women, children, and the elders.
Almost every day, these ghouls exhibit new lows in complete and utter lack of souls, hearts, and consciences.
“There is very little evidence in the history of warfare of a regime that has a crippling internal problem that decides to focus on the crippling internal problem,” he said.
This guy is unbelievable. He described us. Oh wait, he said “regime”. We can’t be a regime, we’re the good guys.
The evilness of the US has no limits.
Let’s see, the Stuxnet computer virus — a US/Israel creation — was aimed at Iran …?
