As Trump Administration officials continue to talk up war with Iran, one
would expect the reporters assigned to the Pentagon to be working
overtime to get the specifics of what is happening. But that’s not happening.
The Pentagon has been increasingly opaque about everything ongoing in
the military, and is no better when it comes to the potential Iran War,
as there just flat out aren’t any official briefings to get information
from.
In fact, it’s been almost entire year since May 31, 2018, the last time
the Pentagon had an official, on-camera press briefing. Off-camera
gaggles for reporters were once a weekly occurrence, but there have been
none in 2019.
The reporters at the Pentagon have for months called for a resumption of
press briefings, and are adding to those calls with the apparent
approach of a major war. It’s not clear if the Pentagon is even
considering such a resumption, however, because there is no venue for
them to even admit if they are.
Another campaign promise kept.
Which one was that ? (^^,)
His promise not to divulge any military plans or deployments.
Venezuelans, Iranians and Yemeni’s might have a slightly different opinion.
Most of the time Trump rattles on about which nations will be next.
The Senate armed services committee had to threaten a lawsuit to get trump to divulge Syrian and Afghanistan deployments in 2017. Still waiting on his secret plan to defeat ISIS in 30 days after his coronation. Yep, he talks a lot, never tells anyone anything.
Trump declares the press to be an enemy, the once-daily White House press briefings are no more, Pentagon briefings no more. I guess thin-skinned Trump found out the hard way that not everyone on Earth exists to kiss your ass and act as your PR dept.
When your chief executive celebrates physical assaults on journalists, that’s not good.
Scam artists like the war complex and its profiteers always leave their “customers” in the dark because they usually tell lies.
Avoidance.
There are so many things that the Trump regime needs to keep in the dark, daylight ruins everything.
Even the Pentagone proves unwilling to deal with a whopping 95613 complaints by whistleblowers and simply ignores them.
The rest of the world can do their bit by developing a spine.
