The Kurdish YPG’s attempt to take the last of ISIS-held towns and
villages in eastern Syria has focused heavily on getting civilians out
of those areas, as not to worry about casualties. What happens to those
civilians when they flee the village of Baghouz, however, is a problem
of its own.
According to Syrian officials, the US-led coalition attacked a camp for internally displaced persons who had fled from Baghouz. Scores of civilians, including women and children, were reported slain, and many more wounded.
It is not clear why the camp was targeted, and the US has not commented
on the matter. Local officials say the toll is expected to rise further,
as many of the wounded are in critical condition, and have little to no
access to medical care in this remote, war-torn part of Syria.
US airstrikes have been killing growing numbers of civilians in and
around these “last” ISIS-held towns, and while the heavy US air support
has been key to keeping ISIS on the defensive, the civilian casualties
are likely to breed resentment among those left in the area.
I’m sure that resentment is exactly what our military wants.
Hey, if ISIS isn’t around, just bomb anyone who is handy.
If they were hit with US bombs, that makes em ISIS.
Same old USofA.
Shame on the US, I am ashamed to be an American, we continue to kill, it never ends.
It`s a win win for the war corporate, a missile cost the taxpayer a couple of million and fired opens for a new demand.
A compensation for a live taken…if admitted, is 2-5K…payed by the taxpayer.
As the U.S wraps up its collateral damage as worlds chief of police, we are reminded that Team America can discharge their weapon against an unarmed group of people solely because of a single ISIS fighter inside the camp.
There is just ONE reason for this random bombing. These sre regions under US control, with a few misserable refugee camps — from which people have escaped, ss they are not permitted to leave. This has been problrm for years. It is true that ISIS has been allowed tp be sheltered there, following fall of Raqqa. But, please! Who exactly has been arming them in the camp? Financing? Nobody. Unless US paid them. So, what is the big deal now with the rag tag of pauperized ISIS and their families? There is just ONE reason , and one alone. US is not giving up on Kurdish fantasy.
How do you justify YPG going there, where there are NO Kurds living — ZERO Kurdish population? Well, just invent ISIS, and get YPG to come bravely to OCCUPY THE REGION WHERE ONLY ARABS LIVE. This charade and deception may look clever on neocon laptops, but on the ground it will create a rage and insurrection of local population against Kurd occupation — thus MORE justification for bombing and fighting ISIS! It is amazing what games are played to get Kurds to occupy Arab land.
Syrian Government never had the problem with Kurds and US should not fear for Kurds safety once under Damascus rule. But this is not happening — just the opposite, Kurds are being occupiers after bombing will make Arabs run again. First from ISIS, now from Kurds. Kurds can declare any human being “ISIS”, kill them or ethnically cleanse. This nonsense cannot last too long. Just giving Kurds more territory before withdrawal. They will never allow Arabs to vote on thejr choice — to be under Kurds or join Damascus. The answer is obvious.
Both Turkey and Iraq have had enough of this, and Gulf countries are not paying for any militants any more, and had Kissed and made up with Assad, reopened embassies, and talk reconstruction. So, how will more ISIS be manufactured? The only remaining pockets are refugee camps snd villages around. ISIS fighters, scattered there were not given chance to surrender. Then what, just chase individuals, their families accross countryside, and bomb villages for good measure.
All this for false pride. The region would have bern at peace long time ago if Syran forces took over. If Saudis called it quits, we should too.
