The Obama Administration and the Russian government are both preparing to announce tit-for-tat “retaliations” against one another this week, with the White House making very public their plan to announce a whole series of new anti-Russia measures as soon as Thursday, and Russia vowing to respond in kind.
The White House measures are nominally “retaliation” for accusations that Russia “hacked” the US election against Hillary Clinton. President Obama has promised to make such a move, and with his term in office running out in a few weeks, he’s running out of time to make good on his promised revenge.
The public announcement is expected to include sanctions against Russia and some diplomatic measures. Administration officials have also promised cyber-attacks against Russia, though how much of them are public knowledge is as yet unknown.
Russian Foreign Ministry officials expressed annoyance at the constant “lies” about them hacking the election, saying that they view Obama’s moves as a deliberate provocation, and that Russia is preparing a retaliation as soon as the White House announces theirs.
It seems to me that our Government’s complaint about Russian hacking of Democratic organizations during the election was more about the publication of the politically one-sided hacked information, rather than the hacking itself. Yet the main publisher of the hacked information — Wikileaks — insists that its source was not Russia. Why do US media and our Government persist in ignoring Wikileaks’ denial that Russia supplied the information that Wikileaks published? Given the track record of our Government in feeding us false information on Iraqi WMDs and on many other non-existent “threats” to our national security over the past many years, I am inclined to doubt that our Government is telling us the truth this time — especially in light of the blatant “Russia is evil” and “Putin is demonic” propaganda campaign that our Government has been conducting recently.
So Richard you supported Trump , hope it was good choice
We shall see. If Hillary had been elected, we would be in the same “semi-hot word war” and would be looking forward to escalations during 2017. Hell, she would have been screeching into the mic about some dead german leader during the whole of the festive season.
” If Hillary had been elected, we would be in the same “semi-hot word war””
Actually worse. We had a choice of evils, and she was a major war-monger.
How does recognizing that the Bush administration lied about Iraq WMD to start a war and that Russia is a better ally than enemy make one a “Trump supporter”?
You are all worthless yanks
You are a worthless Red Sock.
No, Eric, I did not support Trump or vote for him. To the contrary, his 18 months campaign revealed him to be a congenital liar, a self-centered braggart, a self-confessed sexual predator, an ignoramus on any subject other than how to make money, and generally a despicable person utterly unqualified to be President of the United States of America. However, even a man like Trump is bound to say something right at least once in his life — and on this occasion he did. Whether he meant what he said and/or will act accordingly when he becomes President is another matter. I am not holding my breath.
I was hoping Trump..the anti-establishment candidate might be different, but his choice of a racist xenophobe for Israeli ambassador has me realizing that Trump will be more of the same mendacious nonsense that has perpetuated all presidents rule.
They persist in order to avoid the truth of the information revealed. Change the subject.
I suppose Obama could have already instigated the assasination of those two Russian diplomats
Russia may cut off our uranium and our rocket motors . but we can not freeze any of Russia money so it says in the contract
America and americans suck goat cranks
Hillary did, Trump might, you do if you say so. Not the rest of America.
Nov 29, 2016 The Map That Shows Why Russia Fears War With USA Mike Maloney

Russia does not fear the US in any conventional war…a nuclear, well both lose. Russia has seen the laughable US military lose Vietnam, Irag, Afghanistan, and be limited in its terrorist support in Syria. Furthermore Russia has better weapons all the way around. Why would they worry?? They are smarter, more pragmatic, and will not allow globalization or any NWO.
Yep, Putin is allot smarter than the Bankster puppets in D.C. and the Mockingbird CIA media.
Dec 26, 2016 Putin schools Wall Street Journal – “We didn’t start this”
At the recent annual live Presidential conference, a Wall Street Journal seemed alarmed at Russia’s plans to continue developing its nuclear potential. This was specified by Putin and Defense Minister Shoigu the day before the Conference, at the Ministry of Defense Board meeting (linked at 2.47).

Russia’s army is about 5% of its nominal Cold War strength. That still makes it twice or more than all of Europe combined today. It is still larger than the US, and has more mobilization potential built into its structure.
No, conventional war is not a winner for the West, just as it has NEVER been a winner for the West. That is not how the world was ever run, and not how it is run today.
The retaliation goes back to earlier.
Hillary as Sec of State sponsored a major effort to meddle in the Russian election of Putin, and he was loudly outraged by that at the time. That was in the press, widely reported. He blamed that on her specifically, not Obama generally, seeing her as the liberal interventionist hawk who sought regime change in Russia.
What Putin did to Hillary, and only her, was retaliation for what she did to Putin. It was retaliation, and it was personal.
We could keep going like this, or we could stop. However, we cannot claim innocence in it.
