In an interview with John Pilger, WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has confirmed today that the organization did not get any of the hacked emails they published from the Russian government. WikiLeaks has a long-standing policy of not commenting on sources, so even such a denial is highly unusual.
Assange insisted however that it was necessary to deny the claims, saying that Hillary Clinton’s camp “has been able to project a neo-McCarthyist hysteria” with false claims that Russia’s government in behind the hacked emails as part of a plot to rig next week’s election.
Russia has long denied being involved in the hacking, but the Clinton campaign has run heavily on the issue, accusing Republican candidate Donald Trump of being a “puppet” of the Russian government, who they are trying to install by leaking embarrassing emails.
The campaign’s allegations have so far been pretty effective at limiting media coverage of the content of the leaks, with a lot more attention going to the speculation that Russia is plotting to “hack the vote” for Trump. Whether Assange’s straightforward denial is sufficient to bring the focus back to content remains to be seen, though the Democratic campaign is unlikely to give up what has been materially their main talking point over the past several months just because the facts don’t support it.
I posted this on my Facebook page:
The end of the most successful propaganda campaign the Democrats ever created.
I had finished speaking to Four star General Tony Zinni about Joe McCarthy. General Zinni had coordinated our Presidents, NATO, the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the United Nations while being Commander-in-Chief of U.S. Central Command. A Vietnam vet, he was well aware of my past as a war protester. Yet he published a book, Before the First Shots Are Fired: How America Can Win Or Lose Off The Battlefield with a radical approach to dealing with the Middle East. He argues that before situations are allowed to build up and explode, steps we can take to diffuse the problems. Without firing a shot.
As I finished outlining how CIA had created the fake name that brought McCarthy down and all the other names on both lists were real ( the American public has never been told there was a second list Joe had of spies in CIA. All of them were arrested, but Joe and The Pond got no credit). The General looked up at me, smiled broadly and said, “Give them hell”. Them, being those who spent decades deliberately or naively promoting anti- McCarthy nonsense.
I spoke to Four star General Michael Hayden former head of NSA, CIA. I also interviewed a CIA historian for 2 hours on the report he had done on The Pond, the group that gave Joe the lists of names. ( The interview ended with him asking me how the hell I found him. I’m good.) By the way, the CIA history division is the major source for our true history, all the propaganda removed. STUDIES IN INTELLIGENCE in my opinion deserves a Nobel prize, hell, even a Pulitzer for saving our true history.
Absolutely none of them said I was wrong. Not one. Of course when you have firepower like those folks behind you, it is far more difficult to listen to Democrats spouting anti-McCarthy rubbish.
I had also discussed with General Hayden what would happen if Assange or Snowden were killed or taken prisoner. He not only shared my concerns, he amplified them. He knows our internet is not secure. He knows what a worldwide assault on the net in the U.S. would do.
I was shocked at the reports that an intruder had tried to scale a wall at the Ecuador Embassy to get to Julian Assange. It was clearly a mercenary as if Intel wanted to get him, he would have been “got” already. Letting Snowden stay in Russia and Assange stay in embassies is prudent. Taking them out would cause a backlash we simply are not ready for. So, who the hell was this person trying to “James Bond” Assange?
Then the Democrats did something so shocking it made my head spin.
Without offering a shred of evidence, they took all their complaints about McCarthy and turned the complaints on their head. For decades they insisted there were no Russian spies in the U.S. and Joe had randomly selected names and chased after innocent people without a shred of proof. This scenario is false by the way. But in attacking Trump, without hesitation, they did the same thing they falsely accused Joe of doing.
Without offering a shred of evidence they began accusing Russia of being behind the leaks. Hillary went even further, stating that 17 of our 24 Intel agencies had all confirmed and had proof Russia was behind the email hacks. Yet no evidence was presented.
Since I think 24 Intel agencies is way too many, she needs to name those 17 agencies so we can begin shutting them down.
But I believe like everything else she says, it’s a lie.
Russia responded by sending ships into NATO areas and threatening us if we didn’t stop lying. President Obama immediately stopped accusing Russia and backed down, Hillary continues to blame Putin.
Everything they had accused Joe of, which by the way was false, they were doing.
And they were willing to bring us to the brink of war to do it. Just to protect Hillary. Is she worth fighting a nuclear war for? Apparently, 40% of the nation thinks so.
A large part of her support is the huge number of government workers in Democratic cities and states. I asked Charles Paidock directly ( and it is recorded on video) wasn’t it true that if Trump said and did everything he has so far, but ran as a Democrat, wouldn’t the same government workers vote for him without question? ( Charles by the way came up with the standards to fire government workers, which has made it almost impossible to do so). He did not answer. Of course it is. If he had run as a Democrat, they would “show their love”. Morals and ethics they gave up a long time ago.
This election has torn apart the Libertarian Party. the GOP and even damaged the Democratic Party. Once the public knows how the sausage is made, that means the propaganda no longer works.
I believe Hillary will win. But it is the duty of every true American left to support efforts to block everything she tries to do. No Supreme Court judges, no Czars of departments, she should not be able to go to the bathroom without asking permission. Should she try to start a nuclear war with Russia to get in the history books on false charges Intel must expose her and tell her no.
We lost the press as our defenders. We have discovered even our presidential debates really are fixed. Our courts are too slow. The legislature has given up too much power to the White House. That leaves the military and Intel as all we have to protect us. We will need that protection, now.
