During his visit to Saudi Arabia to attend the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) summit, President Obama provided the GCC member nations with a personal guarantee that the United States would defend their nations against “Iranian aggression.”
The comments were intended to placate the GCC member nations, particularly Saudi Arabia, as they are all openly angry about the US involvement in the P5+1 nuclear deal. Obama insisted that despite the deal, the US has “serious concerns about Iran’s behavior.”
The offer is likely an empty one, since Obama’s comments do not constitute a treaty of defense, and with him out of office in just eight months, it would be up to future presidents to decide if they actually wanted to get involved in future wars in the region.
Ultimately, of course, an empty pledge is as good as a real one, since Iran has never expressed serious interest in attacking any of the GCC nations, and spends far less on its military than either Saudi Arabia or the UAE, meaning there is no practical way they’d ever launch such a war.
So, President 0 is making a personal guarantee of defending the tyrannical gulf states? Good, after he finishes destroying our country, we can all pitch in and send him a one way ticket to Qatar where he can practice what he preaches – defending his tyrannical friends.
you never know he might have a job offer or one lined up from Qatari or Uae already
Obama is enforcing “The Carter Doctrine.”
“Iranian aggression” in the last century consisted of booting out the US-installed Shah and defending themselves against a US-supported Saddam. More countries should attempt such “aggression.”
support for palestine and hezzbollah make rapprochement impossible.
Obama, the good toady, is just setting up the scene for Clinton. He is starting the propaganda war against Iran and its “aggression” so Clinton can come in guns blazing. They are a co-ordinated team — the pathetic first black president and the psychotic trigger-happy first female president.
He was so from day one. In fact, there would have been no day one for Obama, had he not agreed to DNC and Hillary terms before Convention. He was under attack during two day DNC conference in Washington, with Hillary’s henchmen threatening with bogus claims on votes in Michigan and Florida — all with the purpose of making him concede to their conditions. And having met with Hillary in Georgetown, the neocon queen dictated terms to helpless Obama. He had few choices. To pull out of the race and start a civil strife, or to agree to her terms. With the media in neocon hands his pulling out would have been construed in such a way as to belittle him and his supporters. It would have worked considering how many people were uncomfortable with the idea of black president. He chose to stay as a puppet, with some opportunities to slow down Hillary neocon brigades. Did not succeed. And now, with the prospect of Hillary presidency, he is doing what he is ordered, so he and his family can retire in peace. Had he chosen in any point in time to fight it, he would have not gotten support in public. That much every politician must know, and not sacrifice his personal interests for absolutely nothing. Hillary was appointed to run State Department without Obama’s interference. She runs it still.
starting?
tis been a decade at least of this song playing quite loudly
Where’s the pledge to defend Iran against Gulf States and NATO?
The proof is here. We are defending tyrannical governments whose caliphate-based ideology is spreading terror around the globe. And our leaders and politicians are dumb enough not to notice that we are not talking here of radical Islam, but of perverted Islam, a cult instituted in Saudi Arabia by the agreement between House of Saud and the founder of Wahhabi fundamentalism. Now, courtesy of US, it is spreading. US decision — and now it is official, is to support Sunni Wahhabi cult and its destructive ideology against all that are in the way. Primarily, these are Shia countries and Shia communities in the Middle East. And it is spreading in Europe courtesy of US and EU “clever” support of toppling Assad. “Assad must go” is literally ISIS battle cry “Infidel must go”. And then the dumbbell politicians are “shocked” when young and poor Moslems are drawn by ISIS cult. We are literally telling them to go and fight for the cause, and then so full of it, we condemn them when they do. Or when they figure out the duplicity come back home to unleash their righteous terror on innocents. And not just Paris and Brussels. Other countries paid much higher price for the toxic cult being let loose from Saudi Arabia. It has been first imposed on the rich, but small sultanates, emirates or caliphates of the Gulf. They had to accept it in order to live under the protection of Saudi Arabia. But now, courtesy of US neocon fanaticism, it has become a main battering ram against states in the Middle East that do not allow garden variety of Salafi followers of Wahhabism to destroy their secular institutions. It is not a coincidence that all the regimes that were targeted in the Middle East were secular. From Saddam Hussein and Ghadafi, to Assad. In Egypt, Saudi Arabia proselytizers have converted already millions to the Wahhabi-supported cult of Salafism. It has spread during the years of Mubarak as an antidote to secular Islam — Moslem Brotherhood. Saudi Arabia provided religious leaders, regular supply of food, and “education”. This is why a secular, nationalistic Moslem Brotherhood, after coming to power with the votes of Saudi-sponsored newly minted Salafi parties, could not survive. From day one — Salafi demanded that the new Constitution would allow for voting in Sharia laws. Morsi, however, agreed to it under the condition that any such law would have to be first approved by the Egyptian highest Sunni authority, Al-Azhar. Saudi Arabia would not consent to this, as that would mean continuation of the sovereign Sunni state of Egypt not under the Sharia authority of Saudi Arabia. The ignorant and stupid interpretations for the fall of Morsi and the rise of military continue until this day — mainly for the reason of HIDING THE ROLE OF Saudi Arabia and its desire to bring under its control all Sunni states. Military in Egypt is a secular institution, and had been faced with only two options: to step in and be torn in the middle between secular state proponents, Moslem Brotherhood, and the caliphate proponents, Saudi-sponsored Salafists, or to destroy Moslem Brotherhood that had no support in the region with the exception of Qatar and non-Arab state, Turkey. The first option would have taken Egypt down the path of permanent chaos. The second, brutal and rootless, eliminated the Saudi objection to Brotherhood Secular state. But it did more then that. Coming to power, military got support by all those that were tired of chaos and destroyed economy, and took advantage of it by getting Al-Sisi legitimized as a President. And — most importantly — gave a message to Salafi movement that should they try AGAIN to protest against the Government, they will have the same fate as Moslem Brotherhood. Al-Sisi is literally taunting them to try opposing him. Immediately, Al-Sisi established strong ties to Russia and China, while Saudi Arabia continued to pay to support the regime that eliminated the largest threat to them — Islamic nationalism and sovereign states. To House of Saud, the idea of elections — based on Islamic parties, was the biggest threat. Qatar that along with Turkey tried to promote that kind of secular Moslem states, fell victim in the quarrel with Saudi Arabia. US stood by Saudis, and the emir of Qatar, old A-Thani, had to abdicate and install his son. But we have not seen the end of this.
Loss of the only ally in Arab world, Morsi, was a major blow to Turkey. Mursi was outspoken against US dominance in Middle East, and to prove his point, invited Iran’s Ahmedinejad to Cairo and to Egypt’s top Sunni authority, Al-Azhar. That ended any hope for Morsi in US corridors of power — he has crossed the Rubicon by recognizing Shia state as fellow-moslems, not as infidels according to Saudi teaching.
Russia must have had superior intelligence, as it did not court Morsi, but immediately after military coup took Al-Sisi side. Turkey was the looser, but it continued down the wrong path. Namely, it tried to prop Moslem Brotherhood in Syria, assuming as a matter of faith that US was going to topple Assad — and it needed to have a foothold in Syria to prevent Saudi Wahhabis — underwhatever Salafi name — to take power in Damascus. Turkey’s opposition to Saudi-dominated future Syria had brought wrath on Turkey’s leadership. Neocons started more then a year ago to smear Turkey, Kurdish uprising started anew, and elections were interfered with. Key figures in Turkey’s internal turmoil are Soros Open Society and his fellow tycoon Turkish-American Fethullah Gulen. It is amazing that we know so little about this man and his enormous network of Islamic institutions across Europe, US and Asia. The two tycoons work together. Gulen has on his payroll many Turkish media, prosecutors, police chiefs, but probably not in military. He is a “cleric” with “internationalist view” of Islam, which translates into caliphate. Like Soros, he does not believe in borders, sovereignty and strong governments. While Gulen believes in caliphate span of control under Saudi auspicies, Soros believes in “civil society”, no borders and weak state institutions. It all comes down to the same objective. It is thus not a shocker that US wants to support Saudi Arabia, as it works through two of the richest men — Soros and Gulen — to advance the destruction of borders and diminishing state institutions. They are not concerned that it also means uncontrolled migrations, crime, smuggling, human trafficking, drug trafficking and trans-border armed militants — often lovingly called “rebels”. We have such crime-ridden “rebel” state of Kosovo, and with some luck, will have it in Bosnia. Many Wahhabi cells are already there since the time they partook in head-chopping of Serbs during the civil wars in Balkans during nineties. No US president since has complained about no-go zones in Bosnia. Yesterday, CIA chief flew from Riadh to Sarajevo. Clearly to appraise Bosnian Moslem leaders of the outcome of Obama-House of Saud talks.
If we see the increased activity of those fanatics in Balkans soon — we will know exactly what message came from US and Riyadh.
“poor young Muslims” are ESPECIALLY DRAWN to the money the US pays them as ISIS soldiers…..
they have more European in Isis than MEterns also Blackwater mercenaries as well now German ex soldiers are joining the isis since the payis way higher and incentives
Trump is going to have a field day with this crap.
i thought arabs are threat to each other mainly Saudizhitdom are doing fine job of depopulating other Arabs without Iran having anything to do with their killing rather defending the hapless Arabs of Syria Yemen and Iraq may be obama should defend arabs that are under attack from arab gulf isis that he vows to defend
defending gulf despots is defending Isis mr. obama
The USA and the GCC members are all run by the same billionaires, so they might as well look after each other.
Yeah, but who is going to protect the Gulf States against Obama? Iran hasn’t made a move of aggression against another country in hundreds of years whereas the US makes moves of aggression against other countries on a regular basis. The kingpins behind the US government don’t seem to understand that what goes around comes around. But they have their underground bunkers so maybe they don’t care.
