It’s already been heavily reported how badly the first class of New Syrian Forces (NSF), also known as Division 30, did after being trained by the US and sent into Syria. There were 54 of them to start, and last week Centcom conceded there were only “four or five left.” This may still look like a runaway success compared to the second class.
The second class entered Syria by way of Turkey on Friday, and according to reports there were between 70 and 75 of them in total. Today, reports out of Syria suggest that the group immediately took its weapons and vehicles to al-Qaeda territory and turned them all over to them.
A statement from al-Qaeda’s Syria branch said the group’s membership had agreed to give them everything in return for “safe passage,” and that the leader of the second class, Anas Ibrahim Obeid, plans to issue a statement repudiating the US training strategy.
Obeid told al-Qaeda he “tricked” the US coalition because he wanted their weapons. Ironically he would’ve been one of the top ranked NSF forces left, after Lt. Col. Mohammad al-Dhaher resigned this weekend, complained the program was “not serious.”
The latest loss speaks volumes about the state of US vetting of its “pro-US” rebels, at a time when reports suggest they intend to dramatically lower those vetting requirements in the future for the sake of faster arming of rebel factions.
That is why I think the training has been going through a snails pace. Just imagine if there were thousands that went to Al Qaeda and joined. It would be an even bigger PR nightmare. Which is worse PR, US trained rebels join Al Qaeda or that there is so few of them being trained? I'd say it is the former.
And just where did these Syrian ” loyalist” expect safe passage through and too?
I say “loyalist” because they have a loyalty above and beyond what the mercenary US political military handlers cannot understand.
I mean come on now, only cognitively disbabled people within US can, and sadly millions do faIthfully, believe US government is in ME with any altruistic intent.
If you are of Middle East and Central Asian or persian decent then you know to the US; The only good resident of those lands is a either dead or temporarily a good guy who is killing for money his own peoples.
The ones waiting in the wings for a time when their time of F or Suck for US dollars will realy pay off.
Seems these guys may of done what the song said do; “Take The Money And Run”.
I wonder if the safe passage was for a trip along the same routes so many of Middle eastern peoples are taking, to a new and better life in Europe?
Yup. Stevie Guitar Miller certainly had the right idea…
"Mission Accomplished" ?
So what lies is Centcom going to fabricate this time?
There is no trick involved here, look these people are trained by CIA or others in Turkish territory then they are sent to Syria, it means that both the Turkish Erdogan regime and USG know about who these new mercenaries are going to fight or support. You just don't send five or twenty of these people to Syria hoping that they are going to join what USG says that they will, 50 million dollars project set by pentagon for five or twenty anti Syrian government "fighters". This is beyond anyone magination to believe that pentagon or CIA or other USG and or USG is innocent enough fooling people to believe that their story is true, that's just laughable, either these people mentally are incompetent or they just act like one having fun with 50 million dollars of working people's money.
The real purpose of the program is to arm anybody in Syria that will fight the Assad government, under the cover story that we are arming only "moderate" rebels who will fight ISIS first. In fact, that has been the US policy since 2012 at the latest. Even then, the CIA claimed to be "vetting" those to whom Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkey gave arms. It was always a cover story.
The war will not end, and Europe needs to understand that the migrant crisis will not end, until the US, KSA, Qatar and Turkey stop giving "material aid" to terrorists and begin negotiations without precondition (ie, Assad remains and is part of a "power sharing" agreement until supervised, fair elections can be held). Rebels will never agree to negotiate without precondition as long as they are being armed, because they know they have little or no support among the people and will lose to Assad or his successor in a free and fair election.
I…literally have nothing to say. I actually drew this scenario on my comic strip a few weeks ago but I meant it as satire. Seriously.
These new mercenaries are simply following orders… from Uncle Sam.
But it's all good, 'cause Uncle Sam has a new propaganda campaign to demonize Putin the Poopyhead's presence in Syria, so that will distract us from the reality of Uncle Sam's policies.
It obvious that these folks who (trained) NSF Division 30, are the
same folks who graduated from George Bush's 'No Child Left Behind'
education program.
