Details are still scarce, but officials are confirming that US troops attacked a civilian bus in the Herat Province, in the Adraskan District. The attack killed one civilian and wounded another.
So far there have been no comments from US officials as to why the bus was attacked, but it was traveling on the same Kabul-Herat highway as the US convoy was, and it is not unusual for US troops to perceive anything else on the road as a “threat” and start attacking it.
This is the second report incident of civilians killed this year in Herat. In February, four civilians were killed in the cross-fire between a NATO and Taliban gunbattle in the province.
It is also the second incident of US troops killing civilians this week, with 11 children killed in a US air strike in Kunar Province, on the other side of the country, earlier this week.
This is simply murdering people, shows the real face and attitude of a militarism regime, shows that such regime both at home and abroad have no respect for human life no matter what and how they do the propaganda for their falsified democracy.
The U.S. military has become pathetic.
"Support the troops?", I no longer think so.
Surprised? Consider this…
1. IF there is an overall mission objective, it's either super-duper secret – not for public disclosure – or just complete BS and the military staff responsible for execution know it, so don't care and just want to do their time and escape alive and well.
2. Because the 99.9% of the American people who aren't actively physically supporting (serving) the so-called GWOT are tired and uninterested in Bush's legacy accomplishment anymore, the military had to lower the recruitment standards to fill the ranks and targeted those with a penchant for single-shooter video games and who are easily jazzed up with jingoistic rhetoric rampant with lies and undeliverable promises in a time of financial uncertainty in the heartland.
3. The constant dehumanizing of the indigenous population in those faraway lands – full of jihadists and anti-American terrorists. If the American military fighters believe that the people they're fighting to free from the evils of the religious fanatics are grateful, then the ends justify the means. Of course, it's more likely that the soldiers just don't give a shat what the indigenous people think – they just want to get home in one piece.
4. The obvious arrogance by the invaders that they are never wrong and have the God-given right to inflict whatever pain and suffering on others to achieve the short-term objectives.
All together, it boils down to the fact that trying to fight a nebulous enemy with no real attainable goals as guidelines leads inevitably to atrocities and a lack of respect for the lives of others – especially those from different backgrounds and beliefs.
And they will be surprised and angered when those "lesser peoples" sometime in the future return the arrogance with death and disaster on the 99.9% who stood by and allowed (encouraged) these things to happen in our names.
i feel so much safer!
Where does Obama find time for carrying out "kill list" executions when he's spending so much time lobbying to disarm American civilians?
