Rebel fighters are abandoning one of the ongoing battles against Muammar Gadhafi loyalists, claiming they are tired of the poorly organized leadership and lack of equipment necessary to fight.
For weeks the rebels, with assisting air power from NATO war planes, have been fighting pro-Gadhafi resisters in stronghold’s like Sirte and Sabha. In Bani Walid, where rebels last week issued a warning for residents to evacuate prior to their violent onslaught, rebels are calling it quits.
Mohammed Andar, a rebel fighter and former police officer, sustained minor injuries and decided the fight was not worth it. “A martyred father would be an honor for my children, but not in this chaotic, ill-planned way,” he told the Associated Press. Other rebel fighters are giving up because they’re now realizing the well-armed loyalists are a bigger fight than they expected.
The news lends further credence to criticism of the rebel groups as disorganized, factional, and unprepared to rule the country themselves.
O…..K……. LOL So what now..?? Back to the Bosnian…bomb… bomb… bomb… em into d'stone age..
It is so wonderful to know democracies don't start wars, and/or murder their neighbors… I guess the BIG question NOW is how to FINISH stealing Gadaffi's GOLD, MONEY….OIL to bail out feckless, not fuucless, France and buy an "0" re-run on Nov. 6 2012…in the U.S.?????
Curiouser and curiouser. Now they won't roll over and play dead like good doggies? It's only going to get worse.
So, this is just asking if the rebels are willing to die to fulfill NATO/US' need to completely exterminate the Ghaddafi faction? Or, do they declare victory and go home to their families?
Any rebellion can be viewed as "disorganized, factional, and unprepared to rule the country themselves." if someone chooses to view them this way.
The worm turns.
And now it will be the turn of NATO, France,Britain and Obama's USA to squirm.
Allah is indeed great!
“rebel fighters… a bigger fight than they expected… unprepared to rule the country”
Quite the reverse — and this is the fallacy of all wars, that the best killers make the best leaders.
For ability to kill is in direct proportion to the speed at which you rationalize a problem and take the quickest action. Whereas, ability to act moral and do right, this is in direct proportion to the slowness at which you rationalize a problem and take the most carefully thought out action.
Slow and careful thinking laboring man that me be, that’s what I always say.
Stats say that about 90-percent of Libyans are "Gadhaffi Forces". They are not military ; they are a citizen army and giving a very good account of themselves. An example for all of us. May God bless and see them through!
Has the thought ever crossed your mind that Gaddafi has always been a paid actor working for the CIA? For if so, then what more perfect counter-revolution could there be to squelch the Arab Spring.
Lack of equipment? What happened to all of those missing weapons?
And this is the rabble that wants to run a country? And this is the mob that wants to be taken seriously and have a seat at the UN? Of course, the criminals at NATO do not give a damn as long as they are given the oil.
So, with Gadhafi still alive and his forces not defeated, in my mind he is still Libya's legal political ruler. What happens if- and of course this is a huge IF- his forces rally and eventually regain the upper hand? Will other nations still recognize the NTC as the government?
Looking at it completely objectively, Gadhafi is still Libya's legal leader but his presidency has been stolen by the West.
Reminds me of Panama where the old corrupt chum of the US was kidnapped to make way for more compliant stooges.
Hahaha- yes, I seem to recall Noriega being so corrupt and evil (EVIL, I TELL YOU!!) that his main concern in jail was securing a steady supply of Doublestuf Oreo's.
On another note, I also seem to remember one of his jailers, a female in the Military Police, decided to leave the military over the Noriega controversy to pursue a rather successful career at the Bunny Ranch in Nevada. So, I suppose some good came out of the sorry mess.
Libya has a sad history. Berbers were conquered by Romans, Romans were killed by Jews, Roman and Jews were killed by Arabs… Its history of independence is short, and, it seems, again is coming to the end…
And Italian fascists have viewed Libya as an Italian colony from Mussolini to Berlusconi
The NATO nations' castles should hold massive garage sales to pay their debts.. With Al 'D in Natural Science' Gore leading their rush to carbon tax tyranny, total mental degeneracy and decay is indicated. If bombing the unarmed people of Libya is NATO's idea of a fresh, progressive foreign policy, they themselves must expect incoming nukes numbering in the thousands. Time for a radical change in outlook on the part of the NATO knuckle-draggers.
The truth is slowly leaking out. Tripoli is still not in rebels hands fighting continues. The Towns of Bani Walid and Sirte have draw rebel forces from many other towns and now I learn that Qaddafi forces are fighting back in these towns too.
