In a televised speech today, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan called for international intervention in Syria to stave off an incipient civil war in neighboring Syria, saying that he believes Turkey should take the lead in the move.
“The situation that has emerged there is right now heading toward a religious, sectarian and racial civil war. This must be stopped,” insisted Erdogan, adding that he believed a civil war in Syria would “pose a threat to us.”
Turkey has been rumored for quite some time to be among the most eager nations to intervene militarily in Syria, with reports dating back to June that the Turkish government was considering sending troops to occupy northern Syria to create a “buffer zone.”
Of course the growing civil war in Syria has been fueled in no small part by Turkish meddling in the first place, with the Erdogan government giving safe haven to defector factions from the Syrian military that have been launching attacks on targets inside Syria, as well as propping up a Libya-style “transition council” based in Istanbul that has been pushing for international military intervention.
Syria was part of empire Turkey aka Ottoman Empire. I think this is the real reason why Turkey wants to get involved. I think they see the chance to start getting the old empire back. If they are successful I would rethink my future if I had dual citizenship with another middle east nation. Turkey killed 55,000 British soldiers in a 10 day period during World War one and they continue to defeat the british in every battle not really Arab action lead by Lawrence of Arabia. At the end of WWI in what is now Iraq they had a full British army under house arrest including the Major General. The reason why there is no British empire was they had a bad habit of losing major battles. Syria and the arab unrest could very well end up as the return of the Ottoman Empire the only question is if it will include Libya as it got to in the past.
What weird history books are you reading? 55,000 British soldiers killed in 10 days? That's nonsense. Mind citing a source for that claim? A "full British army under house arrest"? SOURCES??
Having written the last paragraph, Mr. Ditz should have then gone to explain who is behind Turkey's bellicosity. American, British and French "advisors" are stationed in Incirlik airbase. Turkey has close consultations with the big three NATO powers–asking about the weather no doubt. With money pouring in from the likes of Saudi Arabia and weapons easily got, it is no surprise that Syria is in turmoil. Having learned no lesson from Iraq or Afghanistan, we and are allies look to repeat a mistake in Syria. When the blowback comes, please don't ask stupid questions like Why do they hate us.
So, the only way to prevent war is war? Where have we heard that before? I wish that shameless political whore and hapless Zionist stooge Erdogan would shut up and stop licking his Masters' boots.
War is Peace
Freedom is Slavery
Ignorance is Strength
If we'll use this logic, then there's also a lot of turmoil in the east and southeast of Turkey with the Kurds. Therefore, there should also be an invasion of Turkey to redress this problem.
Every US president for last 40 years or so needed to have a war under his name to satisfy the US war machinery.., Barack Hussein Obama is no exception. USA and present EU governing body is in hand of NATO militarism regime, Turkey is just a poppet to the true and real tyrants in Middle east (Saudi Arabia, UAE and rest of the neo-mafia in Middle East) following the NATO rules and regulation hoping to gain entry to EU membership. But if they can (when the time is right) they will start a war with Syria and then Iran and Iraq and etc, which is the wish of Sarkozi, Markel, Camron, Obama and Hillary Clinton.
War! The U.S. can't get enough of it. Whether it is directly or indirectly involved makes no difference. The U.S. just loves killing and destroying.
It must have started with the genocide of the Native Indians. The smell of blood, the killing of women and children in their teepees.
America is a nation of psychos. There can be no other explanation!

PM Erdogan did not suggest outside military intervention in Syria. Your headline may attract eyeballs but so does Lady Gaga.
I like this saying about journalists…
“I hate newspapermen. They come into camp and pick up their camp rumours and print them as facts. I regard them as spies, which, in truth, they are. If I killed them all there would be news from Hell before breakfast.”
– William Tecumseh Sherman (1862)
Prayers for Syria.
No, he did not, but he would have if NATO would dare to attack Syria, his army would be the first to shoot.., as he backed the terrorist groups in Libya when NATO told him to do so.., He is looking for his part of the Mafia games played by the true tyrants in Middle east combining them with the western Mafiosi (EU) and US “democracy”, yeah right democracy… and NATO militarism regimes.., what a concept.
