A blogger involved in a failed attempt by an FBI translator to leak information regarding FBI wiretaps reveals today in the New York Times that the 200 pages of records included Israeli embassy conversations with US supporters, including at least one member of Congress. The blogger reportedly burned all the records.

To bad the Israeli's spying on us never makes the news. End aid to Israel now!
The FBI spying on our friend Israel? That´s discusting – Israel would never do such a thing to the US.
Walter, I'm sure everyone here on antiwar just loves your sense of humor!
The internal relationship of Empire USA Israel, this is an absolute top-down dictatorship with a power combine of the multinational corporate rich at the very top — with the deadly force of the FBI and Israel at the very bottom. With Israel created for a dual purpose, to terrorize the Middle-East and as a smokescreen to take the heat for all the corruption by the corporate rich.
"Mr. Leibowitz, who declined to comment for this article, released the documents because of concerns about Israel’s aggressive efforts to influence Congress and public opinion, and fears that Israel might strike nuclear facilities in Iran, a move he saw as potentially disastrous, according to Mr. Silverstein."
Boy, if even israeli's are concerned about israel’s aggressive efforts to influence Congress and public opinion, how come no Americans are interested in the issue.
"While the American government routinely eavesdrops on some embassies inside the United States, intelligence collection against allies is always politically delicate, especially one as close as Israel."
Yet when israel spies against the US it's not politically delicate at all.
"Douglas M. Bloomfield, an American columnist for several Jewish publications, said…'I am not surprised at all to learn that the F.B.I. was listening to the Israelis. But I don’t think it’s a wise use of resources because I don’t see Israel as a threat to American security.'”
Ha! Is there a greater threat to American security than israel? I don't know of any.
There IS at least one greater threat than Israel – which will disappear when we cut off the welfare. That greater threat is the military-industrial-congressional complex
Well, I have a dual citizenship, too. I did some translations that I swore not to divulge. Even though some documents would have affected the outcome of certain negotiations between the US and the country of my birth, never in my life would I even consider divulging a tiniest shred of information, period.
No matter what loyalties he had and what fears he expressed, first and foremost -Mr. Leibowitz is a betrayer of trust that was put upon him. Second – he is a blabbermouth. His sentence is too lenient.
I agree. Dual citizens should most assuredly NOT be involved in the US govt's most inner workings period. Just to be on the safe side
It's not spying, it's called monitoring. King David Hotel, Lavon Affair, USS Liberty, Pollard, Aipac, etc, etc etc.
My comment to the NY Times (aka Jerusalem Times) simply stated: maybe we should classify this as monitoring not spying. Remember, The King David Hotel, The Lavon Affair, The USS Liberty, Pollard, The Aipac Affair etc. etc etc .etc. My Comment was never printed. Wonder WHY??? Never mentioned the Rosenbergs, Sep. 11 2001, Congress …………
Andor

We may trust in our conscience to keep us out of darkness and walking in the truth — only so long as do not betray conscience.
So, if Leibowitz took the job knowing he would have to hide corruption, then he betrayed conscience and is a stench in the nostrils of any man with integrity. Whereas, because he became a whistle blower and kept his conscience, he is now and forevermore a national hero like Manning.
Otherwise, give me back the $200 I donated to the defense fund of Manning.
