A barrage of US drone strikes across Yemen’s south and east has entered its third day today, and shows no signs of slowing down, as the latest US attacks targeted the Shabwa Province.
With so many of the attacks occurring against remote villages in the hills of Yemen’s rural interior, the death toll is difficult to ascertain, but at least 68 are believed to be dead over the past three days.
Yemeni officials say the strikes are targeting “top leader” of al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP), and that they have high hopes they may kill one such leader, but they can’t confirm anything of the sort so far.
Indeed, while all of the official statements from Yemen have termed the slain “militants” or at the very least “suspects,” not a single person has been identified at all so far officially, and many civilians were confirmed among the slain on Saturday.
When is this obscenity of the US slaughtering at will going to end? When is the US and it's leader Hussein Obama going to be brought to justice and punished for this mass murder? The man is a violent, disgusting war mongering mass murderer who has no attachment to the human race with his penchant for butchering innocent people in far away lands. This slaughter has got to end and he has to be brought to account for his crimes.
Yemen's US puppet friendly regime lacks the backbone to protest this outright attack on its sovereignty. Obama claims the attacks are directed at so-called insurgents. However, he has offered no (proof) to support these accusations.
The hyprocrisy/arrogance of this guy boggles the mind. Obama has asked (Americans) not to forget the victims killed in the Boston Marathon bombings (which we shouldn't). However, what about the innocent civilians his drone attacks have killed in Yemen?
The US corporate media has de-humanized the victims of Obama drone attacks. It uses the terms: insurgents, and al-Qaeda supporters to justify this guy's cowardly attacks. The liberals who attacked little Bush for his illegal invasion and destruction of Iraq have been silent for the most part while their man who (won) the Nobel Peace Prize continues his killings.
So Obama intentions is to carpet bomb all of Yemen just to kill a few Al-Qaeda terrorist. The administration was embarrassed a few days ago by the large gathering of Al-Qaeda, hence Obama wants to show the world who is boss.
How many more will we need to kill before they start attacking the US in a meaningful way? What are we supposed to do if it doesn’t work, and they never attack us? We won’t be getting our money back for all those missiles!
