Speaking today on Meet the Press, Senate Foreign Relations Committee official Sen. Bob Corker (R – TN) warned that “we’re going to lose eastern Ukraine if we continue as we are, and I think it’s going to be a geopolitical disaster.”
Sen. Corker’s comments suggest he is under the impression that eastern Ukraine has been anywhere remotely in the US sphere of influence at some point in history, a position not backed up by reality.
Corker’s belief led him to push for the US to escalate its sanctions against Russia to punish them for threatening US control over the region, saying it was time for President Obama to be more “forceful” in the area.
Corker said he wants sanctions against Russia’s government as well as its energy sector, and that the US should “beef up our security relationship with Ukraine,” including direct aid for its military which is presently attacking eastern Ukraine.
Eastern Ukraine belongs to Corker? Wow, I seem to have missed that memo. Corker has blown his cork and is clueless as the day is long. So if east Ukraine is lost and someone finds it, you know somewhere, does the finder get to keep it? Would the finder want to? And lastly and most important, would there be a finder's fee?

The most remarkable thing about today's Press The Meet was the steady and unabashed propagandizing by Gregory and his "guests", Corker included. Presupposed were the Putin menace, his aggressive intentions toward Ukraine and everyone else in the world and the pressing need to "stop" him. Someone needs to put the televised media in the United States on a kind of anti-psychotic, so rabid are their pronouncements against Russia. One wonders if NBC realizes the extent to which filth like Gregory engenders outright hatred in their audience. One wonders if the care.

Corker, we understand the importance of Ukraine geopolitical and militaristic-strategic location of Ukraine situated right where it is, bordering Russia, but that’s not America nor is in Tennessee, Kansas, Texas, Alabama or Idaho, Ukraine is nowhere in United States of America so it cannot be part of USA which worrying you for losing it. Senator, Ukraine is another country, is over four thousands mils away from Tennessee or any American shore, it belong to that country national, the Ukrainians, not you or any other of your kind and I don’t think that you have enough manpower, personally, to run there and “save” it from Russian speaking Ukrainian.

Our Neo-Cons led by Nuland briefly thought they had stolen Ukraine away from Russia. They hadn't. They had only run off the President. But they believed it, and boasted of it widely, for example a couple of columnists in the NYT wrote up the "victory."
They had also thought the same thing about the original Orange Revolution, before it became clear it was just a new set of kleptocrats just as much under Russian influence.
