The Obama Administration has finally released the text of the P5+1 implementation agreement, but only to members of Congress, and say they don’t intend to ever allow the general public to see it.
The implementation agreement covers the specifics of the already released interim agreement, and reportedly also includes a “secret” addendum related to other, unspecified topics.
Earlier this week, the Obama Administration insisted it was the EU that was mandating the text of the implementation deal, but after the EU denied it they are now claiming the IAEA is the one forbidding the public from seeing the text.
The agreement is set to begin next week, and will start the six month “interim” deal period. Negotiations on a permanent agreement are set to begin in February.
Transparency was the name of the game for Obama, now the American people are feeling their way around in the dark.
Withholding the text of the agreement from the public is no different than releasing the text and then doing whatever they want anyway, regardless whether it aligns with the text of the agreement or not.
"they don’t intend to ever allow the general public to see it"
Why is that? Damn, this Kongress just gets worse…and worse…and worse…it really is a good ol' boys (and girls) club now. Secrecy and self-enrichment is the name of the game, and they are all in on it.
Once again the people are left out.
You said it, and I totally agree. It's time for We the People to assert our Sovereignty in no uncertain terms; tell both the White House and Congress in strong language (no profanity, please) that WE are the boss, not they.
How would the government be able to say that Iran renigged on the deal if everyone knows what the deal is.
This is like everything else with President Transparency. Secret laws, secret rulings, closed sessions, invoking national security for everything, and ignoring the the people, democracy and the constitution. If it walks like a duck… This guy is a tyrant.
Sharing the report with Congress is almost as good as making it public:
"A senate aide with knowledge of the agreement text said that the agreement does not require dismantlement of the Arak heavy water reactor in a final deal, and that it includes a provision for the Iranians to get to veto reports of violations of the interim agreement."
It appears that secrecy has more to do with what might rile up AIPAC, Israel and their supporters than the reaction of the American public whose concerns are regularly ignored anyway. Did Obama really believe Sen. Kirk – who stated that he sought his office to work for Israel – would keep the secret?
End the USA's imperial butchery of Iran.

Huh? The only butchery going on in Iran is the tens of thousands of executions of Iranian men and women carried out by the Islamist Mollah Regime, which is the world's most prolific executioner.
