The Obama Administration’s chosen face for the Syrian rebellion, Free Syrian Army (FSA) commander Gen. Salim Idris, is out of the country and likely out of the picture today after being forced to flee in the face of growing Islamist tensions.
Idris reportedly fled to Turkey and later Qatar, with US officials saying his office has since been taken over by the Islamic Front, one of the rival rebel umbrella groups.
The Islamic Front is also said to have seized the remaining FSA warehouses, full of US military aid, across northern Syria, and this drove the Obama Administration to announce last night that it is freezing all direct aid into the country.
The FSA has long been losing ground in the north to al-Qaeda and other Islamist blocs, but the ousted of Gen. Idris suggests their waning influence may be all but gone. If true, that’s a major blow to the Syrian National Coalition (SNC), since the FSA was the only fighting force even nominally allied with them.
It has been said that, parties involved in Syrian war from USG to EU to Saudis and UAE and Turkish government are trying to divided Syria as they have done with Yugoslavia, this time is about Saudis-Wahhabis and their affiliated terrorists groups. FSA by losing grounds to Al-Quaeda and their affiliated terrorists group, and now fleeing FSA general, it seams that the matter is getting closer to reality whereby such idea in Islamization of part of Syria becomes a fact where Israel is afraid about the USG handling the situation and USG playing the good cop and EU the bad cop or other way around, yet satisfying the Saudis interests by establishing a brutal, a total dictatorial regime consist of mercenaries paid by the regimes in Saudi Arabia and UAE.
And what is Islamic Front? Nothing but Saudi forced umbrella name for all various Salafi, Al-Qaeda, Wahhabi groups. Saudi Arabia even hired a PR firm to clean up their image. The reason for this move is to hold on to the strategic piece of real estate, on border with Turkey and all Kurdish areas, Syrian, Turkish and Iraqi. We will see how it works out, as Turkey will have nothing to do with the Al-Qaeda/Islamic front. Turkey supported what was touted as legitimately Syrian rebels. Now, while Idriz may have left the country, Free Syrian Army has rejoined Syrian Army, under amnesty deal. But the top commander did not qualify, hence, exile. There is nothing now for Turkey to support, and the whole lots of trouble at its door.
What a bunch of idiots, didn’t McCain and company see this coming.? Interesting to see what plan B is going to be.

So now there is no "Syrian opposition" to support except the Saudi-backed jihadists. The democratic opposition has rejoined the government. Will that stop EU and US support for terror?
