Kerry: Sequestration Might Force Cuts in Israel Aid
Insists 'Vital Mission' of Military Aid to Israel Would Be Undermined
Secretary of State John Kerry has joined the chorus of officials claiming that the minor cuts resulting from sequestration would be a huge threat to “national security,” and was quick to play the Israel card in defending his own department’s budget.
According to Kerry, the $2.6 billion cut in the budgets of the US State Department and USAID would mean a few hundred million dollars in cuts to American grants to foreign militaries, the largest of which is the multi-billion dollar yearly “aid” to Israel.
Kerry’s comments are part of an administration campaign to insist that the cuts are unacceptable, as Senate Democrats push a plan for major tax increases as an alternative to allowing the cuts.
And while the average American might not be sold on the idea that a slight reduction in annual gifts to the Israeli military is such a dire thing, Congressional sentiment is likely to be starkly different, as many see anything even hinting of falling short of slavish dedication to Israel as an unthinkable lapse. Devastating tax increases might not be popular among Congressmen, but if they can be spun as a pro-Israel move, their support is likely assured.

Continuing the aid to Israel is analogous to a man who falls in love with a prostitute, and just can’t stop supporting her, even as his family grows destitute.

Some play the resist card when they don't have any other proof.., others.., like this guy.., is playing Israeli card as we the people have to be very thankful for all that taxpayers money going to Israel and us gets wars, threat, blackmailing in return which I think Kerry is playing that old anti every theism card making the american people feel guilty and noon loyal to Kerry's masters. Is just few millions dollars.., Kerry not like you are going to pay from your picket.., it is we the people paying it…, get it.

Any country, no matter how much congressional influence they have, who (1.) Fires on our Navy ships (ie: USS Liberty), (2.) Steals our secrets and gives them to another country (ie: J. Pollard) and (3.)Sells our weapons technology (ie: To China) doesn't deserve our assistance in the 1'st place. Let them fund their "vital mission" with someone else's money. I'm sure the neo-cons would be more than happy to take-up a collection.

Crocodile tears for poor Israel. The Israelis "might" get cut off from the American taxpayer's wallet. That's sad.
Kerry is obsequious if the man is anything.

How low and disgusting can this former US Senator go?
How much of a slave is the US of A to the zionist entity?
When will the people of this country get fed up with their tax money going to that parasite?
Curious minds would like to know.

The Drudge Report headlined this story as "Kerry threatens Israel Aid". As if the Israel Lobby wasn't already involved in the "the sky is falling" view that if the Pentagon returns to 2007 spending, poor little itty bitty Israel will be overrun. All aid to Israel should be stopped and be given to the poor destitute Palestinians.

And if that happen$, The wailing wall, and other major structures will crumble from all of the moaning and bitching. The Zionists will ask for 5 billion to rebuild it. If Israel is a "special" friend, they should be happy to "sacrifice" $$$$ aid. Non special friends…bitch and moan.

Nobody ever mentions that all US aid to Israel is illegal as per US law, not that our wonderful "leaders" follow their own laws anymore.

Just another upside to sequestration. Of course the new U.S. Senate approved Israeli Foreign Minister doesn't see it that way.

What a misleading headline. I thought kerry was coming to his senses and thought cutting aid to israel was a necessity. I was wrong.

If only that was true. What you have is elected official who get millions directly for the powerful Israel money system as a reward for giving the Israel money people our tax dollars. It's not a case of a weak individual going to a prostitute. Both sides this incest are prostitutes. The only hope we haveis to dispatch to Israel all involved with this stealing of our wealth. Why would an honest elected person send more guns to a national that's already so well armed and with nuclear bomb as an add on
