With tensions already on the rise, Wired.com’s Danger Room is reporting today that a new US commando team, known as the Joint Special Operations Task Force-GCC (JSOTF-GCC), is operating in a number of countries near Iran. The military has not previously acknowledged that the JSOTF-GCC even existed.
The group is said to be designed to “confront irregular threats.” The GCC includes a number of Gulf Arab states as well as Saudi Arabia, and was the organization behind the Saudi-led invasion of Bahrain to put down pro-democracy protests in that nation.

"" and [ the GCC ] was the organization behind the Saudi-led invasion of Bahrain to put down pro-democracy protests in that nation. ""
Well, well, look who's snuffing out the shining beacon of democracy. I guess democracy isn't democracy unless it's the Official Brand (read: US) and it's enforced at gunpoint and it serves the interests of the Washington/Tel Aviv nomenklatura.

The problem is these secret commando groups tend to go rogue and start fires that the govt. or military aren't ready or equipped to put out and we end up in war/terrorism and further away from peace than ever. It's a recipe for disaster.

I wonder if those nuclear scientists that turned up tot would be considered "irregular threats" in the battle plans in play in the GCC?

They do EXACTLY what they are designed to do: create instability and a justification for further intervention.
