On US Visit, Netanyahu Eyes Weapons for Iran Attack

Seeks Bunker Busters as Reward for 'Concessions' to Palestinians

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is off to the United States tonight, with a visit to AIPAC’s annual planning conference on the official agenda, and something much more serious to be discussed in a Tuesday meeting with President Obama.

Reportedly, having been formally praised by the Obama Administration for his dubious “concessions” last week, Netanyahu will now seek some returns on that investment, since apparently the “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy that will keep construction going in occupied East Jerusalem isn’t its own reward.

Netanyahu will reportedly press President Obama to provide the nation with “bunker buster” bombs to make Israel’s long-threatened military attack on Iran more convenient.

Israeli governments have been seeking the bunker buster bombs for years, with occasional deliveries intersperces with new demands for more advanced bombs. With the ever-present threat of attacks from Israel, Iran has been putting its civilian nuclear infrastructure deep underground, making such attacks unlikely to be successful.
