Its hard to believe ties could get any worse, but US officials are once again back to railing against the Pakistani government, publicly accusing them of having direct ties with the Haqqani Network even as they claim to be holding private talks in Washington DC.
The Obama Administration has made it a point of blaming the Haqqanis for several high profile attacks lately, even rejecting claims of responsibility from groups inside Afghanistan in favor of suggesting they were Haqqani plots.
The Haqqanis have often been cited as an excuse for US drone strikes against Pakistan, so it is clear that the administration would like to play them up as a threat. Blaming Pakistan has also been a way to deflect attention from the worsening security in Afghanistan. The efforts seem to be doing major harm to relations with Pakistan, and officials like Leon Panetta seem to be looking to antagonize the Pakistani military at this point, needling them publicly at every opportunity.
Already Pakistani officials have lashed out at the criticisms, urging the US to stop blaming them for everything that goes wrong in Afghanistan and advising them to focus on the many, many militants operating across southern Afghanistan. Both sides insist a break in their relationship would benefit no one, but it is hard to believe that the situation can continue to worsen without a split at this point.
If the group is in Pakistan how did they manage to go all the way to Kabul? Why not blame NATO for letting the group carry out the attacks? It would be insane to expand the war to Pakistan. But then, it was insane to attack Iraq and insane to stay in Afghanistan chasing the wild goose.
Bingo, you asked and answered in the next sentence.
Insanity has been rampant in the White House, Pentagon, State Department and much of the country since 911. Foreign policy and domestic policy have both been conducted like it's a game in Nurse Ratched's ward. The Neo's in both parties obviously want a piece of both Iran and Pakistan, which certainly qualifies in my book as insane. But when your main foreign policy objective is keeping Israel safe and not angry at you, it's going to look like you're certifiable. Greenwald wrote over the weekend that with all the austerity going on directed at us riff-raff, the Guv is looking for bids on a new prison in Bagram that could cost as much as 100 million bucks. Considering we've already sunk billions in Afghanistan for bases and US-like towns for the troops, 2024 may be an optimistic target date for getting out of there. They care not a whit about what any citizen thinks on any issue. Evil or insane. Or both.
Oyate, a Native American, made this comment once on Information Clearing House that is the best description I have seen of what this country is going through:
"What I see you afflicted with is "muneishnuk", the turn-around sickness.
We observe it in mare moose who become afflicted with turn-around sickness and she becomes agitated and fearful of enemies from all directions, and she just starts to turn around and around and she will trample her foals under her feet.
That's what makes it a sickness. Not that the mare is vigilante but because in her vigil, she has trampled the very thing that is important under her feet.
It's also called the "out of balance sickness" in some traditions but we call it muneishnuk. Turn-around sickness."
Americans are liers as they know the fact that Haqqani group if any then will be in Afghanistan and americans are killing afghans for the last ten years illegally.
This blame game is started when america has difficulties at home or in afghanistan.
They want so for pakistan was doing to kill the afghans and pakistanis for american interest but how long.
The only option is to leave afghanoistan and Irak and pakistan to save america from further desaster.
Once a week there is a conference call between the corporate rich of Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq, Israel and USA. Whereupon, all the paid actor politicians are given their script for the week, hand picked generals are given their marching orders and all those make believe governments function as programmed.
"Pakistan accused of ignoring US terrorism"
There, Jason, I just fixed the title of that article for you.
