Obama Vows ‘Accelerated Offensive’ in Yemen
Will Use 'Every Element of National Power'
Taking time out from his Hawaii vacation to comment on last Friday’s lap bombing on a Detroit bound airliner, President Barack Obama vowed an “accelerated offensive” against militants in Yemen.
The president said he would not rest and would commit “every element of national power” to the new mission of attacking those speculatively accused of some vague complicity in the failed bombing.
Several Congressmen are already chomping at the bit to use the lap bomber as a justification for a war in Yemen, and the Yemeni government, which would presumably be further aided in its assorted civil wars by the US, eagerly declared that the attacker had been to Yemen.
With the scent of terrorism in the air, President Obama will likely be able to parlay the lap bomber into a justification for anything and everything he might want. Officials are already talking of scrapping plans to close Guantanamo Bay over it, and America’s role in the attempted assassination of US-born cleric Anwar al-Awlaki last week can now readily be justified on speculation that the bomber’s alleged al-Qaeda links can be combined with Awlaki’s alleged al-Qaeda links to form alleged links between the two.
Of course, the Awlaki assassination bid and the US attacks on Yemen have been going on since before a Nigerian set his lap on fire on an airplane, and we’re only now starting to get the full extent of the war in Yemen the Obama Administration is already covertly fighting. The failed bombing is just a nice Christmas present for the president, giving him easy cover for the assorted wars he is already fighting and further wars he might plan to start in the future.

bab Al-Mandab and LNG look it up.
although on a personal note a friend of mine is from Yemen and he is very enthusiastic about the prospect of an american presence. although i doubt it will stay that way when the marines land

Believe me when i say that you do not want the Marines in your Land. once they are there you will never get rid of them. out of 190 Countries in this world, 130 have American Military Bases. They are like a Parasite. Your Friend needs to educate himself for any Country besieged by Big Bro would rather see the Back side of them.

civil war crime and poverty are the most pressing concern people have there… the long run is not much of a concern when living day to day i guess but you are right

Was the "bombing" (what a joke to describe it that way) was a "nice Christmas present" for Obama or was it yet another example of a false flag operation designed and timed to allow the Israel Lobby/ Terrorism/ Military/ Industrial Complex an excuse to attack and profit from another Muslim country?
Gee, I really don't know which of the two options I would pick… NOT.
We're doomed.

"The two construction companies said the major role of the project is to develop Yemen and Djibouti's economies and to recast the two countries as centers for global trade."
think of it as the Singapore model break off the best ports and integrate them completely in to the world market while impoverishing their neighbors, just got to clear out any potential trouble makers first.
but i still don't think this guy is anything more than a loony, i mean look around if Israel would have use it mossad connection in a real terrorist network to pull off a real attack Americans would have stampeded back to war.

looks like a staged event. just like 9/11 was staged to get the publics justification to attack the innocent Country of Iraq. Obama , if you have any consiences then give back the Nobel Piece Price. is that your way of negotiating. Please give us Bush back, at least he was something to laugh about. You on the other Hand scare me.

I would have dropped nuclear bombs all over the Mid East an hour after 9/11/01. Think of all the boys we would have alive today. The Arab culture would no not to mess with the USA and this would not be an ongoing problem.

I hope you are joking. that is the perfect response that the brainwashed sheep of america would say. My question is how did the sheep get the kool-aid. You are assuming that 9/11 was master minded by operatives other than in our own government. Real tough; are you law enforcement.

Funny, that immediately , possibly before the towers fell they were already saying Bin Laden must be the culprit.
This event about the attempted bombing is perfect for the justification of further civil liberties consequences and other retaliatory actions. So easy to see. Who benefits from these actions? Not the American people ; just those profiting from the war….
If we need to be in place for some future oil wars, I guess were in the pink position.

I'm starting to think that maybe this isn't a FEDGOV inspired false flag op, but a new Al-CIA-duh tactic.
Instead of spending years and $100,000s in training, materials, and prep work, just send some half brain dead twit with a fist full of fire crackers to do the deed. After he gets caught just make sure he is well trained enough to scream "I'm an Al-CIA-duh agent!"
Then just sit back and watch the US drown itself in paranoia and a ton of new oppressive regulations and wealth consuming wars. All for the cost of a pack of matches and some black cats from the local fire works stand.

Besides the fact that Arabs didn't do 9/11, Arabs would not be messing with the US if the US wasn't fucking around in their countries trying to steal their natural resources.

So, if "Al-Quaeda" is really as clever and diabolical as we are led to believe, and they really wanted to blow up an airplane, don't you think they could have come up with something better than sending a poor, deluded, mentally disturbed young man with a few chemicals? Something that might actually have worked?

Come to Risaralda and Anserma, Caldas, in Colombia. You won´t regret it. The only problem is that you may want to stay there forever. Peace and all the best. Former Trident missile engineer Bob Aldridge resigned because a disarming and unanswerable first-strike capability is suicidal.

Gee, this whole scenario might go like this…….Let's burn the Reichstag ; then blame it on the terrorists. Tell the people we will occupy that land; Wait , that has been done before..
Are we going to be like the other "Homeland", We didn't know that our leaders were trying to
develop world domination. Yea right. the news on the tube is busy talking about the effects not the cause of all of our problems. We have to spread the word .. Terrorism and terrorists are the most perfect enemy. You cant get them all. They could be anyware. They have no army, air force, or navy. They make a perfect Perpetual War Complex. Only , we can't bully them around threatening nuclear attack, like a country that has no nukes.
