Some Israeli security officials are trying to downplay the Pentagon’s decision to significantly scale back its participation in a US-Israeli military exercise, even though it was pretty clearly meant as a signal that Washington doesn’t support Israel’s march to war with Iran.
“Israel has no idea why the Americans decided to reduce the number of troops it will send to the drill,” one security official told the Jerusalem Post. “The ties between the US and Israeli armies are strong, and we would have known if the reduction had something to do with any tensions between Jerusalem and Washington.”
The exercise, scheduled to begin in September, will include only about 1,200 US troops, as opposed to the initially planned 5,000.
Other Israelis clearly see the move for what it is. “Basically what the Americans are saying is, ‘We don’t trust you,’” another senior Israeli military official told Time magazine.
“I think they don’t want to insinuate that they are preparing something together with the Israelis against Iran – that’s the message,” says Israeli analyst Efraim Inbar.
A rift has been growing between the administrations of Barack Obama and Benjamin Netanyahu over whether to launch an unprovoked war of choice against Iran for a nuclear weapons program it doesn’t even have.
“The US elections are in two months, and there is no doubt that President Barack Obama, if he is reelected, will make Netanyahu pay for his behavior,” said an Israeli security cabinet member. “It will not pass quietly.”
is not about Israel any more, US.., "perhaps" maybe" .., have come to its senses understanding who the real enemy of peace in middle east is; therefore US, English and some other European country realizing the fact that they need to change or at least change the face for now until next Israeli elections and see what is going to happen, not that US or EU have no influence in Israeli election but is a political process in wait and see attitude, they don't want Netanyahu and his policy repeated thats for sure, he simply is a dangerous man and costly for US and EU, question is who is the right one for EU and US political stands in middle east when Netanyahu replaced.
If these reports are to be believed, it appears that war with Iran would be less likely with an Obama win in November, than with a Romney win in November.
Yes, it might…but it also increases the odds of a pre-election war…you know, to show Obama who's really boss and to short-circuit any after-election slapdown.
True and it will be 100 percent Israeli bodies in the attack. AIPAC latest letter cried for more money (shocking). AIPAC stated that 500 rockets fired from Gaza hit Israel. AIPAC crowed that 100 rockets were stopped by the billion dollar intercept system given to employ a lot of unemployed Israeli. 100 rockets at $65,000 each would be $6,500,000 along with the salary of the IDF manning the intercepts units.
I do not understand why Israel would be pushing for a war with Iran who has tens of thousand real rockets and not like the people of gaza who manufacure fire crackers. The only thing I can figure is the leaders of Israel fully expect the USA to continue to bleed for Israel aggression. We clearly have been stupid to provide som many weapons to allow the war troubler makers to gain the upper hand. I fear this time the monsters of the likud could get a really huge number of the jewish population of Israel killed and we will have to listen to how it was my fault. I was not even born when world war 2 occurred but the entire suffering in Europe was because of me. Visit any museum run by the chosen an you will see that to be true. It really was your fault.
Which is precisely why the most conservative thing that conservatives, who say they love their country, can do is vote for Obama or, at least, NOT vote for Romney. There's nothing conservative (or moral) about voting to put your country on the road to self-destruction through the pursuit of an insane foreign policy.
If Obama wins, he will do a regime change on Netanyahu. The US administration has plenty of discretion to make the Israeli elite suffer a withdrawal of support, quietly by painfully.
Manipulative, arrogant, warmongering Netanyahu truly deserves a kick up the a**. It's just about the only reason why I hope for an Obama re-election.
"We don't trust you." Why should anyone?
"It will not pass quietly." Chutzpah on steroids making threats….
“The US elections are in two months, and there is no doubt that President Barack Obama, if he is reelected, will make Netanyahu pay for his behavior,” said an Israeli security cabinet member. “It will not pass quietly.”
The worst traps we fall into in life are the ones we set for ourselves– Bibi's mouth is his worst enemy.
Dear Israel:
Our only red line with Iran is that Iran not BEGIN a nuclear weapons program, as they have not done. As long as they are closely being monitored by the IAEA (as they are) and just enriching Uranium for their power needs and for their medical radioisotopes needs – we have no problem with them whatsoever
Since in our estimation Iran is never going to convert to a nuclear weapons program – particularly if we make sure you never attack them first – you'll probably be waiting for any such change in their program 'forever'.
We will notify you of any changes with the Iranian civilian nuclear program – until then consider yourself confined to the non-Palestinian areas to the West of the Jordan River
Thanks and Don't Call Us – We'll Call You.
Enjoy the wait…
🙂
How much will the Obomber make the Nutayahoo pay? A shekel?
Thirty pieces of silver?
Netanyahu not being PM is payback enough. Don't be greedy.
It was wrong of Obama to show his cards before he is reelected. This may only give more impetus to the criminals in Tel Aviv to launch a war before the elections with the objective of dragging the Americans.
What DC is saying by downgrading these exercises is 'look how we pulled out this one, just think what would happen if you did it for real and we didn't come to your aid. You lot are the very junior partners in this relationship, you can rattle your sabres if you like however if its not in our interests, you will stop. Remember what happened to Saddam. he didn't pay attention either. Rogue nation overnight".
I am truly hoping that not only does he make B. Netty Tinpot pay for the times he embarrassed the Pres and VP, but also they pay particular attention to the dual citizens in the State dept. and Treasury working tirelessly to make all of Israel's enemies, real or imagined, to be America's enemies…10,000 miles away…
In the words of Bill Clinton re: B. Netty: "Who the f*** does this guy think he is?"
Obama wil not put his soldier in harms way for the sake of the israelis moreso for the war hawks israel/america.
Do we want to have peace in the Middle East? Really? It's easy.
The US say to Israel: "You guys have three months to have an agreement with the Palestinians about the two nations and about Jerusalem". If you don't we will stop any militar and economic help to Israel (no more weapons no more US taxpayers dollars).
Why this won't happen? because the Congress is in the hands the AIPAC…..and because we have only one Ron Paul….
At least there's one reason to prefer an Obama victory over Romney. That and not having to look at Romney's greasy hair for the next four years.
Having a President who is more mad at Netanyahoo than afraid of him would be refreshing.
