Saudi airstrikes hit a passenger vehicle in Yemen’s southwestern Taiz province on Thursday, killing at least two civilians and wounding six others, as civilian casualties continue to mount in the US-supported bombing campaign.
According to the Yemeni Health Ministry within the Ansar Allah-led government, a pregnant woman also lost her baby due to the strike, and two of the six injured were girls. Footage from Yemen’s Al Masirah TV shows the girls being treated for their injuries and the body of the unborn baby.

The Health Ministry said that another civilian was killed and one was injured by a Saudi strike in the Ibb province, to the northeast of Taiz, and another civilian was injured by a separate bombing in Ibb. “With these crimes, the number of martyrs today has reached four people, including a fetus, and the injury of eight others, in a continuous and blatant violation of all international and humanitarian laws,” the ministry wrote on Telegram.
Yahya Saree, spokesman for the Ansar Allah-led Yemeni Armed Forces, said the YAF recorded dozens of Saudi airstrikes over the past day. “Over the past 24 hours, Saudi warplanes launched 59 airstrikes and missile attacks targeting the capital Sanaa and the governorates of al-Jawf, Taiz, Marib, Hajjah, Saada, Hodiedah, Lahj, Raymah, Ibb, and al-Bayda,” he wrote on Telegram.
“These attacks, carried out using F-15 and Typhoon aircraft that took off from Khamis Mushait and Taif airbases, and missile strikes launched from Najran, resulted in martyrs and wounded, including women and children,” he added.
The US is supporting the Saudi air war in Yemen by providing intelligence and targeting support. The US has also resumed refueling Saudi warplanes, a practice the first Trump administration suspended in 2018 due to congressional pressure over the civilian casualties in the Yemen war at the time and the outrage over the Saudi killing of Jamal Khasshogi.
