Israeli attacks in Gaza on Tuesday killed at least five Palestinians, including the head of Hamas’s armed wing, as the IDF continues its constant violations of the US-backed ceasefire deal.
Izz al-Din Al-Beik, the head of Hamas’s al-Qassams Brigades, was killed by an Israeli airstrike in northern Gaza. Hamas confirmed his death, and a funeral was held for him in Gaza City. At least one other Palestinian died of his wounds following the airstrike, which hit an apartment building.
Israel has continued assassinating Hamas officials despite the group agreeing to a US proposal that would see it disarm. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has rejected the deal, and the US has continued to back Israel’s attacks in Gaza despite President Trump calling for the strikes to end since Hamas agreed to give up its weapons.
Later in the day, two separate Israeli airstrikes hit Deir el-Balah, central Gaza, killing at least three Palestinians, according to Reuters. One strike hit near a medical clinic and another hit tents sheltering displaced families.
Gaza’s Health Ministry said in its daily update that since the so-called ceasefire deal was signed in October 2025, the IDF has killed at least 1,422 Palestinians and wounded 4,996.
Gaza’s Government Media Office said that since the deal was signed, it has recorded 5,147 Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement. It said the attacks “reflect the occupation’s disregard for the terms of the truce or the lives of civilians.” Hamas has repeatedly called on the Trump administration to pressure Israel to actually implement the agreement.
