A thirteen-year-old girl died in Gaza on Monday due to wounds sustained in an earlier Israeli attack as the IDF continues launching strikes and firing on Palestinians across the Strip despite President Trump and the so-called “Board of Peace” announcing that Hamas agreed to a disarmament deal.
A medical source told the Anadolu Agency that the girl, Saba al-Hashash, was shot in the head by IDF troops in the al-Mawasi tent camp near Khan Younis, southern Gaza, on Saturday. Photos from Gaza show mourners holding a funeral for her outside of the Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis.
Israeli attacks continued on Monday, with the Palestinian news agency WAFA reporting that several Palestinians were injured by Israeli gunfire in Jabalia, northern Gaza. Anadolu also reported artillery shelling and tank fire near Khan Younis, and Israeli warships fired on Gaza City.
Gaza’s Health Ministry said in its daily update that it recorded six injuries due to Israeli attacks over the previous 24-hour period. Since the so-called ceasefire deal was signed in October 2025, IDF attacks have killed at least 1,258 Palestinians and wounded 4,125.
After the US announced the Hamas disarmament deal on July 30, Israel initially escalated its attacks in Gaza, killing dozens of Palestinians in just two days. Since last Monday, August 3, the IDF has reduced its attacks, but they haven’t stopped.
Regardless of the continued attacks and child casualties, the reduction appears to have satisfied the Trump administration for now, as a US official speaking to Israel’s Channel 12 said the US wasn’t concerned about Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s public rejection of the disarmament deal.
