Israel continues its attacks on Gaza, killing at least nine people over the past 24 hours.
In Khan Younis, five people were killed and 17 injured when two missiles were fired at a police checkpoint. Israel claims its forces killed Hamas commander Sakr Abu Karim. Tel Aviv says Karim was involved in the October 7, 2023, attack on southern Israel.
Two other Palestinians were killed when Israel shelled a residential area near Gaza City.
Additionally, one 15-year-old Palestinian was killed when his fishing boat was targeted off the coast of central Gaza. The attacks are the latest Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement brokered by President Donald Trump. Since the truce was installed in October 2025, at least 961 Palestinians have been killed.
The Gaza Ministry of Health has recorded nearly 73,000 Palestinians killed by Israel since the beginning of the onslaught. Although the true death toll is significantly higher, as many of the dead remained buried in the rubble.
In addition to violating the ceasefire with near-daily attacks on Gaza, Israel is continuing to seize territory in the Palestinian territory. While the ceasefire agreement called for the gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Strip, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says the IDF will continue to seize territory.
