At Least Two Killed by Israeli Strike on Crowded Seaport Cafe in Gaza City

At least two Palestinians were killed on Sunday night when the Israeli military targeted a seaport cafe on the coast of Gaza as the IDF continues its constant violations of the US-backed ceasefire deal.

Health officials told Reuters that at least 12 people were also wounded and that the cafe, west of Gaza City, was packed with people celebrating public holidays. The Palestinian news agency WAFA reported that the attack was carried out by an Israeli Apache helicopter.

According to numbers from Gaza’s Health Ministry, at least seven Palestinians were killed by Israeli attacks over the past three days. The ministry said that 33 were killed since Tuesday, May 26, the eve of the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Adha, which was celebrated by Palestinians amid an escalation in Israeli attacks.

Since the so-called ceasefire deal was signed in October 2025, at least 930 Palestinians have been killed, and 2,189 have been wounded, according to the ministry’s numbers, which account for dead and wounded Palestinians brought to hospitals and morgues.

“A number of victims are still under the rubble and in the streets, as ambulance and civil defense crews have been unable to reach them so far,” the ministry wrote on Telegram.

The US has remained silent about the constant Israeli violations of the ceasefire deal, which was initially backed by President Trump. On top of the constant Israeli strikes, Israel has violated the deal by taking more territory in Gaza by pushing the “yellow line” further west, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said last week that he directed the IDF to take control of 70% of the territory, significantly more than the 53% that was initially under IDF occupation.
