Israeli strikes on Gaza on Sunday killed at least 12 people, including two children and a pregnant woman, as the Israeli military continues its violations of the US-backed ceasefire deal.
The Associated Press reported that a strike on Sunday morning hit a house in the Nuseirat Refugee Camp in central Gaza, killing a man, his pregnant wife, and their 10-year-old son. According to officials at the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, the woman was pregnant with twins. A 15-year-old neighbor was also killed by the strike.
Another Israeli attack in central Gaza near the town of Zawayda killed eight police officers, including Col. Iyad Ab Yousef, a senior police official. The Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital said that another 14 people were wounded in the strike, which targeted a vehicle.
Gaza’s Health Ministry said in its daily update on Sunday, which doesn’t account for all of the people killed that day, that since Israel and Hamas signed the ceasefire deal, the IDF has killed at least 663 Palestinians and wounded 1,762, more than 2,500 total Palestinian casualties.
“A number of victims are still under the rubble and in the streets, as ambulance and civil defense crews have been unable to reach them so far,” the ministry wrote on Telegram.
Back in January, the Trump administration declared that the “second phase” of the truce had begun, but it did nothing to slow Israeli attacks, which occur daily. President Trump’s so-called “Board of Peace” has also done nothing to stop the constant Israeli violations, and he launched a war with Iran less than two weeks after convening his first meeting of the body.
