Israeli Attacks on Gaza Kill 35 More Palestinians Over 24 Hours

The UN's World Food Program has warned that deaths from malnutrition are likely as Israel continues blocking aid

Gaza’s Health Ministry said Wednesday that Israeli attacks killed 35 Palestinians and wounded 109 over the previous 24-hour period, as aid groups are warning that people are facing starvation due to the Israeli blockade.

The Health Ministry’s numbers account for dead and wounded Palestinians brought to hospitals and morgues. “There are still a number of victims under the rubble and on the streets, and ambulance and civil defense crews cannot reach them,” the ministry wrote on Telegram.

According to the Palestinian news agency WAFA, Israeli strikes on Wednesday included the bombing of the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza. One strike killed three people, including a father, a mother, and their child.

Palestinians mourn the deaths of three people, including one-year-old Farah Ahmed, who were killed in an Israeli airstrike that targeted the Ahmed family’s home north of the Nuseirat refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip, on April 30, 2025

WAFA also reported that three people, including two girls, were killed by Israeli strikes on Jabalia, northern Gaza. On the coast, one fisherman was killed by Israeli fire.

According to Al Jazeera, Hamas’s military wing, the al-Qassam Brigades, said it was engaged in battles with Israeli troops near Beit Hanoun, northern Gaza, and Israeli shelling was reported in the area.

The violence in Gaza comes as Israel continues to block humanitarian aid and all other goods from entering Gaza. The UN’s World Food Program warned on Wednesday that if the situation doesn’t change, Palestinians will start starving to death. “We may see deaths from malnutrition as the crossings remain closed,” a WFP spokeswoman told Al Jazeera Arabic.

The Health Ministry said that since Israel resumed its genocidal war on March 18, which it did with full US support, it has recorded the deaths of 2,308 Palestinians and 5,973 injuries.

Since October 7, 2023, the ministry’s death toll has reached 52,400, and the number of wounded has climbed to 118,014, figures that don’t account for thousands missing and presumed dead under the rubble or indirect deaths caused by the Israeli siege.
