Gaza’s Health Ministry said Wednesday that Israeli attacks across the Strip killed at least 51 Palestinians and wounded 78 as the US-backed daily slaughter continues.
The ministry’s numbers only account for dead and wounded Palestinians brought to hospitals. “There are still a number of victims under the rubble and on the streets, and ambulance and civil defense crews cannot reach them,” the ministry wrote on Telegram.
Israeli attacks on Tuesday included heavy strikes on Gaza City in the north. According to Reuters, a bombing of a multi-story house in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood killed at least 10, while another five were killed by an attack on the nearby Zeitoun suburb.
Early morning Gaza time, Al Jazeera reported that a 15-day-old baby was killed by an Israeli attack on Sheikh Radwan. In Jabalia, northern Gaza, Reuters reported at least four were killed by Israeli strikes.
In Deir el-Balah, central Gaza, at least three Palestinians were killed by an Israeli strike. Al Jazeera also reported a baby was killed in an attack on the Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza.
Gaza’s Health Ministry said the latest violence brought its death toll since October 2023 to 45,936 and the number of wounded to 109,274.
In October, a group of American healthcare workers who volunteered in Gaza estimated in an open letter to President Biden that the US-backed Israeli onslaught has killed at least 118,908 Palestinians, a total that includes indirect deaths caused by the Israeli siege. Dr. Feroze Sidhwa, who led the letter, told Antiwar.com in a recent interview that the estimate was the bare minimum they came up with by looking at the available data.
