The US will purchase $1.6 billion in Ukrainian-made weapons for Ukraine, The Defense Post reported on Monday.
The $1.6 billion is included in a $6 billion tranche of weapons the US announced on April 26. The arms will be provided through the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI), which allows the US to purchase weapons for Ukraine.
The US and its NATO allies have made clear that part of their long-term plans for Ukraine is to help the country develop a military-industrial complex. Western arms makers are also looking to manufacture weapons in Ukraine.
Arseniy Pushkarenko, deputy chair of the Ukrainian Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Policy and Interparliamentary Cooperation, said Ukraine’s military-industrial complex should entice other countries since the weapons it produces are battle-tested.
“This is one of the factors in the development of the Ukrainian economy. Today, the military technologies that we have are tested in combat conditions, which makes our military-industrial complex attractive enough for many countries of the world,” he said.
It’s unclear what types of weapons will be purchased with the $1.6 billion. According to the Pentagon, the $6 billion USAI package includes “components to support Ukrainian production of [Unmanned Aerial Systems] and other capabilities.”

Existential angst pervades Blunderland Down Under as Australian military equipment goes on display in a far off outdoor, contemporary Russian War Museum and much to the delight of Russian society.
Mainstream Media memories are short, they hope, as none too long ago did various esteemed and former Australian Armed Forces luminaries helpfully and axiomatically explain how the Russian State must inevitably lose to The Forces Of Universal Goodness, also known in The West as The West, to their Ukrainian Bandit Army.

In anticipation of an entire Russian exhibition of Australian military equipment as another billion or so in equipment has been committed to The Ukrainian Narco-Mafia-Nazi-Money Laundering-Gun Running Kyiv Operators, under the usual rubric of – er – fighting for freedom, read the freedom to turn an entire country into a shop window for Western Elite Corruption. An outcome where these successes cannot be controverted and so should we accord credit where credit is richly deserved.
One of those Mission Accomplished moments that is far more deserving of coverage in the Western Mainstream Press than presently accorded. Any coverage really.
________
With discernible desperation did NATO’s front-of-shop clerical assistant, one Jens S., run out yet another absurdity concerning lack of manners attributable to the Russian Leadership for placing some of US-NATO-UK and other of Washington’s vassal states’ captured military equipment on display. Regrettably will we see no captured Russian equipment back here and on display.
Rumours abound as to the superiority of it all and it would be really nice to see some right up close, wouldn’t it now.
________
The real concern of this Western Leadership arises from their tangible fear of another Bastille Day which back then triggered ye ol’ French Revolution and so did a goodly number of The Richly Deserving get what they richly deserved.
Few do these days, but then times have a way of changing . . .
One more trick for redirecting US budget money to the private pockets.
More graft and corruption and that is just on the American side.
The greatest money laundry scam in full display.
Wasn’t the argument that Ukraine makes their UAVs all by themselves, so when they target deep into Russian territory and kill civilians this will not be escalatory because the US is totally not involved…?! If Russia paid somewhere to drone bomb the US I’m sure that would be perfectly fine.
Being blown up in war doesn’t exactly increase their value.
