Wagner Group founder Yevgeny Prigozhin announced Sunday that he marked Orthodox Easter Sunday by ordering more than 100 Ukrainian POWs freed, according to Reuters.
Per the Associated Press, Ukrainian presidential adviser Andriy Yermak confirms the Easter prisoner swap, with 130 Ukrainians and an unspecified number of Russian troops on their way home. Yermak says the exchange includes fighters captured by both sides in the area around Bakhmut, where both regimes report an uptick in the tempo of fighting as of Sunday.
While neither side seems to have seriously considered an all-out Easter truce, after Ukraine rejected Putin’s proposed 36-hour Christmas truce, large prisoner exchanges are always a good sign that could presage more wide-ranging negotiations.
Russian president Vladimir Putin celebrated Easter in midnight services at Moscow’s Christ the Savior cathedral, lauding the Moscow Patriarchate’s charitable work “in the face of serious challenges.”
Easter celebrations in Ukraine were more subdued than in Moscow, as Russian forces bombed a church in Zaporizhzhia oblast overnight.
It is always nice to learn that someone got a happy end. Particularly on Easter. Unfortunately, there are no happy ending to majority of Ukrainian soldiers.
Then tell Joe to end the war. You know, the “rules based”, Catholic, man of peace (/s). It’s simple.
They told him but he doesn’t listen.
Ukrainian regime loves cheap lies. Russia bombed a church on Easter, so this is why their Easter was spoiled. Not because Zelenski regime comprised of pathological haters of Orthidox Christianity! Or because of Zelenski otdered a raid on the ancient Orthodox monastery, forcing monks to barricade in a portion of the monastery, and ordered home imprisonment of its head. The monastery suurvived Mongols, Hitler and Bolshevics, but not Zelenski. Ukrainian Orthodox Church has the majority of Ukrainian followers. Typically for such fanatical regimes they are gods, and founded their OWN Orthodox Chirch of Ukraine. Just to give natives the flavor of their church, but for the purpose of indoctrination into “Ukrainianism” Nazi style.
All that is going on — the Wonderful West so sensitive to human rights — silent. No Wedtern “values ” other than the God of Money exists.
The Ukrainian government is crawling with adolescents.
Christians are attacked not only in Ukraine. Recently Canadian pastor Derek Reimer was arrested again. His is guilty of protecting Christian values in Canada.
Yes, protecting “Christian values”. Here’s some of those wonderful things this man has done:
“The pastor was arrested after a Reading with Royalty event on Feb. 25 when he allegedly shouted homophobic and transphobic slurs at children who attended the event.”
“In 2011, he was found guilty of assault causing bodily harm and handed an eight-month jail term plus 18 months probation.”
“Two years later, Reimer was convicted on two counts of aggravated assault and was sentenced to two years in jail.”
“On March 5, Reimer approached a guard asking for medical attention for a fractured hand, saying he’d punched a wall. When sheriffs checked on Reimer’s cellmate, the man was badly beaten, suffering injuries to his face and head. The victim required glue to treat two lacerations. Staff at the Remand Centre interviewed both men. The victim said he woke up to Reimer assaulting him for no reason. Reimer told the officers he attacked his roommate because he was “stinky and gross.”
“A number of other charges in both Alberta and Manitoba have been stayed or withdrawn over the years, including theft, mischief, intimidation and at least two other assaults.”

“Ukraine rejected Putin’s proposed 36-hour Christmas truce”
British newspaper reports that Russians bombed a church for Easter. Uh huh.
The Easter Bunny announced that there will be no visits to Ukraine this year, nor to England or the USA. Apparently Poland has been similarly shunned.
Reports from Russia indicate thousands of Easter Bunny sightings, from Moscow to Vladivostok.
Um, no. You are doing that usual thing, adding a link as “proof”, and most people won’t click on the link. But those who do, see that the only source is this:
What a coincidence that they post this on Easter. After they have been closing down Russian Orthodox churches – now they can bomb to Russia bombing a church! On Easter!
Before that, the Kiev regime has claimed Russia “bombed a hospital and a school,” neglecting to mention that they were empty of civilians and the Ukrainian soldiers were using them as a base. In Mariupol they forced civilians into the theater building where the Azov Battalion had their base in the basement, hoping they’d be bombed. They placed their artillery next to bomb shelters, hoping the Russian civilians in Mariupol would be killed. They claimed Russia bombed a Turkish-built mosque, and a Jewish WWII memorial, both of which were proven false by a female reporter who visited the sites.
They also claimed a Russian missile landed in Poland and killed two people. It was a Ukrainian air-defense missile. Zelensky insisted with the lie long after everyone knew it was false. The fake-news media like the New York Times assisted, by saying “a Russian-built missile” landed in Poland, lying by omission. Ukraine’s air-defense missiles are mostly from the Soviet era.
And let’s not forget “Syria used poison gas,” with pictures showing two Islamist “white helmets” standing in hasmat suits, with sandals, in the “gas” puddle, and people walking by right behind them.
Um, yes. You are doing that usual thing, whining that things you don’t want to be true can’t be true because you don’t want them to be true.
I hope it’s not true, but what is true is that in the past claims about things Russia was supposed to have done have turned out not to be true. Like Russia shelling the ZNPP. So I remain skeptical until more information becomes available. The last sentence in the article is somewhat misleading.
Instead of throwing ad hominem’s around, ‘moderator’?
Why don’t you post links to prove that what he/she was typing was not correct?
Though I think you will have a hard time. For, at least, most of what Jon Met typed seems to be true.
Certainly the part about the AA missile landing in Poland and the false flag gas attacks in Syria. There has been large amounts of data to prove those points, at least.
I don’t follow the Ukraine War close enough to comment on the rest. Though it is common knowledge that a) Zelenskyy is NOT allowing/encouraging religious freedom in Ukraine. And b) Ukraine has mentioned numerous attacks on civilian targets by Russia that were not as they seem.
Though the last part is normal in war…so I don’t hold that against him. Were the fighting in Russia? I am quite sure Putin would do the same.
We are done here…for now.
Good day.
“I am quite sure Putin would do the same” – most people in The West are brainwashed hopelessly. That’s why it doesn’t much matter who is elected in Washington.
All those lies are well accepted in most of NATO countries. The propaganda machine works good.
“Easter celebrations in Ukraine were more subdued than in Moscow, as Russian forces bombed a church in Zaporizhzhia oblast overnight.”
Wow. I thought our propaganda was bad.

British press is in the toilet. I no longer pay attention to any of the trash spewed by the voices of the fake empire.
Who the hell bombs a church for f-cks sake?! (rhetorical)
False flag op?
The same people who bomb mosques.
Great for Russia on the exchange. Now they just need to bring the rest of its Army home and stop Putin’s personal war in Ukraine.
EASTER PEEPS
