Croatian President Zoran Milanovic on Monday offered more criticism of the policy of arming Ukraine, saying that by providing tanks and other heavy weapons, his fellow NATO members are prolonging the war.
“I am against sending any lethal arms there. It prolongs the war,” Milanovic said. “What is the goal? Disintegration of Russia, change of the government? There is also talk of tearing Russia apart. This is mad.”
Milanovic said the war was provoked by the US and NATO. “From 2014 to 2022, we are watching how someone provokes Russia with the intention of starting this war,” he said.
“What is the goal of this war? A war against a nuclear power that is at war in another country? Is there a conventional way to defeat such a country? Who pays the price? Europe. America pays the least,” he added.
Milanovic said what the Western powers are doing in Ukraine is “deeply immoral” and said that Crimea will never be taken from Russia. He compared the situation in Crimea to Kosovo, which was separated from Serbia following a 1999 NATO bombing campaign and formally declared independence in 2008.
“We have annexed Kosovo — we and the international community. It was taken from Serbia. Who did it, if not us — we did recognize Kosovo, after all?” he said. “I’m not questioning Kosovo itself, but the entire concept.”
Milanovic is one of the few leaders of a NATO country who is outspoken in his opposition to arming Ukraine and rejected an EU plan to have Croatia help train Ukrainian troops. Milanovic is not alone in his opposition, as the proposal to train Ukrainian soldiers failed to gain approval in Croatia’s parliament.
Hearing important people speak the plain truth always sounds so weird in this day and age. I’m sure Croatia will get sanctioned for something now, the tellers of the current Big Lie won’t like the truth being traded so openly.
It is immoral to continue a war with no chance of winning. Ukraine has a good chance. It is equally immoral that Russia continues this war. Finally what is this whole thing about “borders”. Didn’t we agree some time ago that things would be better if everybody just stayed within their own borders?
We also agreed not to encroach a certain country’s borders with a hostile military alliance.
Time for CIA or MI6 to have a “chat” with Milanovic.

This is an antiwar site ? I’m confused by the comments here and those mocking the Croatian leader. If Trump orchestrated a coup and took power over Biden when the hooligans stormed Capitol Hill the same hypocrites knocking the Croatian leader and Russia would be furious.
They don’t get it at all. In 2014 an illegal US led coup in Kyiv removed a democratic elected leader aligned to Russia to be replaced with what was labelled as one of most corrupt governments in the world by the likes of Bill Gates.
Then a civil war erupted when the Donbass region full of Russian speakers wanted to break off from Ukraine, then neo Nazis flocked to the region to join the ranks of Azov to fight the Russian separatists. Shortly after without any fighting Putin took predominantly Russian speaking Crimea .
Then the Minsk agreements were trashed, many Ukrainian politicians have been caught stealing 100,000’s of dollars from the western aid sent to them yet the corrupt west turns a blind eye .
Only an idiot thinks Putin was not provoked. This war isn’t as black and white as people think. The Ukrainian government is crooked. This war could have been prevented if the west didn’t stick it’s nose into Ukraine .

The USA will never actually tax all those billions, they will just make an addition to the deficit. They will just borrow that money into existence.
Which is only possible because of the dollar’s reserve currency role. We force every other nation to buy dollars to buy oil. So they are in essence paying a tax to the US every time they use energy.
That lets us continue to wish money into existence and borrow forever.
Except that Russia (and other BRICS nations) want to stop buying and selling energy in dollars. Hence this war.
We INSISTED Europe refrain from buying energy from Russia, and now their economies are crashing and inflation is soaring.
So yes, because they support the USA and buy energy in dollars like a good little colony, Europe actually is paying way more.
