A spokesman for the White House’s National Security Council on Tuesday said that the US has not seen any signs of Russia purchasing drones from Iran despite earlier claims from Washington.
“We’ve seen no indications of any sort of actual delivery and/or purchase of Iranian drones by the Russian Ministry of Defense,” NSC spokesman John Kirby told Al Arabiya.
Earlier this month, on the eve of President Biden’s trip to the Middle East, National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan claimed without evidence that the US had “information” that Iran was preparing to provide Russia with hundreds of drones.
The claims from Sullivan were not the first time since Russia invaded Ukraine that accusations from the US related to the war never materialized. Back in March, US officials claimed in comments to the media that Russia had asked China for military assistance in Ukraine, and Sullivan warned Beijing against helping Moscow’s war effort.
Both Russia and China denied the claim, and there hasn’t been any indication that Beijing was helping Moscow’s war effort. NBC News later reported that the US had no “hard evidence” to back up the claim that Russia asked China for military assistance.
The NBC report said that the Biden administration had been publicizing claims based on bad intelligence as part of an information war against Russian President Vladimir Putin. The report said that the “unprecedented” intelligence releases were being coordinated by Sullivan’s National Security Council.
Just like Giuliani had a lot of theories but no evidence on election fraud, Sullivan has a lot of theories and no evidence.
Si Iranian IL-72’s landing in Moscow is what, humanitarian assistance.
Reports are that over 40 of the Armed UAV’s have been delivered and 350 more are on the way.
Reports from whom? Not being argumentative; but if it comes from Ukraine, or their proxies, it’s most likely lies. This allegation is almost too good to be true, that the “evil state of Iran” is partnering with the “evil state of Russia” to overpower all that is good, so…wait for it….we must do EVEN MORE to help the Ukrainians!!! AND we should “break off all talks with Iran and prepare to attack them as well!!!” A 2-for-1 that we could only pray for!
All we need to add to make it even more perfect is for the Russians to be accused of using North Korean mercenaries!!!!
Sarcasm aside; IF the Russians WERE buying drones from anyone, so what? We continue to sell military equipment to the Saudis and UAE, who are using it to kill civilians in Yemen; far more civilians than the Russians have killed. America has enough sins of her own to repent for before pointing fingers at anyone else.
As if US always seek or present evidence for their claims…Lol…!
Military Intelligence is an oxymoron in America. However it is fitting for a moron Joe Biden!
Iran’s drone is probably a copy of the US drone they captured in 2011. Perhaps Russia likes Turkey’s Bayraktar TB2 better.
Exceptional US operative: “I was just floating a balloon. I knew it was a lie from the beginning but it was all for fun. It’s lots of fun when we ignite a regime change war on a country and kill millions. You guys have no sense of humor.”
US Says It Has Not Seen Signs of US Buying Drones from Iran
Thanks for the laugh!
If Putin wants to buy Irainian Drones what business is it of the Yanks ? .
Iran was never just a petrostate. It is successor of the Persian Empire, and empires before that.
Under the Shah, the US supported Iran’s move into modern industrial production. That did not stop with the revolution against him.
Iran has produced over a million cars per year in some years since its revolution. Even if this is uneven, it is significant industry. They also manufacture quite a few missiles with guidance systems.
Drones are simple, on the scale of advanced tech shown by things like nuclear reactors and advanced centrifuges for refining uranium, things we know they can do.
We too often underestimate Iran. It is not just another Saudi Arabia. It is also near four times bigger in population than Saudis.
What you get when you listen to Jake Sullivan – BS.
