Israeli shelling and airstrikes hit targets across Gaza on Wednesday as the IDF continues its attacks despite the US-backed ceasefire deal and formation of President Trump’s so-called “Board of Peace.”
According to the Palestinian news agency WAFA, at least one Palestinian was killed in the attacks, 27-year-old Akram Hassan al-Arjani, who was hit by Israeli shelling to the south of the city of Khan Younis in southern Gaza. Photos show relatives mourning al-Arjani at the Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis.

The WAFA report said that a girl was also injured by Israeli shelling south of Khan Younis, and another person was wounded by an Israeli drone in northern Gaza. Israeli shelling and airstrikes were reported in several areas in eastern Gaza City and east of the Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza.
Gaza’s Health Ministry said in its daily update that it recorded the Israeli killing of three Palestinians over the previous 24-hour period, bringing the post-ceasefire deal death toll to 618. Another 1,663 have been injured, meaning there’s been more than 2,200 Palestinian casualties since the agreement was signed in early October.
The Health Ministry’s numbers account for dead and wounded Palestinians brought to hospitals and morgues. “A number of victims are still under the rubble and in the streets, as ambulance and civil defense crews have been unable to reach them so far,” the ministry wrote on Telegram.
While previously declaring that the “war in Gaza is over,” President Trump appeared to acknowledge the ceasefire violations in his State of the Union address on Tuesday night. “And of course, the war in Gaza, which proceeds at a very low level. It’s just about there,” he said.
