Israeli Forces Kill at Least Three Palestinians in Southern Gaza in Violation of Ceasefire

Israeli forces killed at least three Palestinians in southern Gaza on Sunday, according to reports from the Strip, as the IDF continues violating the US-backed ceasefire deal.

Sources in Gaza told the Anadolu Agency that the Israeli Navy opened fire off the coast of southern Gaza, killing a Palestinian fisherman. According to the Palestinian news agency WAFA, a second fisherman was injured in the attack.

A 15-year-old boy was also killed by Israeli gunfire to the south of Khan Younis in another area where Israeli troops withdrew from under the ceasefire deal. A third Palestinian was killed by an Israeli drone attack northwest of Rafah in another area the IDF pulled out of.

Israeli airstrikes and shelling were also reported in central and northern Gaza. IDF troops have also continued demolitions of buildings in the areas it occupies, which accounts for more than 50% of the Strip.

Gaza’s Health Ministry said on Sunday that a total of three Palestinians were killed over the previous 24-hour period, including one who was killed by a collapsing building. It’s unclear if any of the deaths by Israeli fire on Sunday were included in the ministry’s count.

The ministry said that since the ceasefire was supposed to go into effect on October 10, the IDF has killed 420 Palestinians and injured 1,184. “A number of victims are still under the rubble and in the streets, as ambulance and civil defense crews have been unable to reach them so far,” the ministry wrote on Telegram.

The ministry said that since October 7, 2023, the Israeli assault has killed 71,386 Palestinians, though many bodies remain missing, and several studies have found the real violent death toll is likely over 100,000.
